About this deal

Have you always dreamed about going wireless with your instrument, but were put off by the complicated setup, tone loss, and bulky adds-ons? If so, the WL-20 series is for you! Driven by new lightning-fast BOSS tech, these ultra-compact music tools deliver premium sound and plug-and-play operation that completely eliminates all the hassles normally associated with wireless systems. It’s very much plug and play – to pair, simply plug the two together, wait for the yellow light to stop flashing, and you’re ready to go. The unit’s auto-pairing feature automatically chooses the optimum frequency to operate on in any given room out of the 14 possible channels. I bought this because the WL-20 and the WL-20-L were not available. I do not regret it! I use it at home and in the rehearsal room, to get rid of the guitar cable. I was fed up getting my feet caught every time in the cable - now with the WL-50 it feels so good. Instead of the little dongle on the amp side (WL-20), I have now the small WL-50 box (even if I do not use a pedal board) standing at the side of the amp, with a 1 m cable to connect the box to the amp. To recall: the "Input" connector is only used when you connect the guitar by cable and do not use the wireless. Another handy little feature on the transmitter of the WL-50 is that there’s a tiny on/off button that’s depressed when plugged into a guitar input. This means that it’s only active when plugged into a guitar, so you don’t get that nasty pop when you take the transmitter out, as you would do with most traditional cables. oz Specifications (TRANSMITTER (WL-T)) Nominal Input Level -10 dBu (1 M ohm) Indicator BATTERY Connectors Input plug: 1/4-inch TRS phone type

The easiest introduction to the world of wireless systems, WL-20 consists of a bug style transmitter and corresponding receiver, with a nominal operating range of 15m. The WL-50 fits snugly into your pedalboardwhere it can charge and provide up to 12 hours of continuous battery life. Setup only takes 10 seconds after plugging in the transmitter, so plug in and play in a pinch. You won't expect any signal drop-outs as the Boss wireless system works in a 2.4 GHz frequency for great audio. Ultra-low latency also prevents a lag between playing and the amp producing sound. Creative design To charge the internal rechargeable batteries, once again it’s as easy as plugging the transmitter and receiver together and connecting a USB cable to charge both at the same time. At street gigs and other mobile performance situations, running your pedals on battery power is often the best choice. The WL-50 receiver can run for up to sevenhours on two AA batteries, allowing you to take your wireless setup with you! While running on battery power, the receiver is unable to charge the transmitter. But don’t worry—you can still charge it using a common USB adaptor (5 V/500 mA or higher), the same type used with most smartphones and tablets. Specifications (RECEIVER) Wireless Format BOSS proprietary digital audio format Wireless carrier frequency 2.4 GHz Compatible Channels 14Supplied from the DC IN 5 V port Current Draw 350mA Battery charging time Approximately 3 hours Expected battery life under continuous use Approximately 12 hours The Boss WL50 is designed to free you up from the hassle of a traditional cabled guitar system. Designed to plug into your pedalboard chain, the WL-50 offers uncompromising tone, low latency performance and a stress-free setup for your live show or studio recording rig. Wireless Freedom For Pedalboards

The auto-pairing feature on the WL-20 and WL-50 is really handy for plug and play, but for some users looking to utilise multiple units in their band, it can be easier to know specifically which channel each player is on. These figures will vary depending on the actual conditions of use. Size and Weight (TRANSMITTER (WL-T)) Width 87 mm Update 15 April 2019: One risk point is that if you leave the dongle in the charging position, but disconnect the charger (for example for transport) . The dongle is active all the time and the battery may be empty when you start playing. The WL-50 is designed for players who want to integrate their wireless system into their pedalboard. You may have noticed that the receiver shares a similar size and form factor with the iconic BOSS compact pedal!

Charging simultaneously with the transmitter: Approximately 4 hours Expected battery life under continuous use Approximately 7hours

With cable tone in the OFF position, the WL-50 is suitable for use low impedance sources such as guitars with active preamps. This is the same as the WL-20L. You can use the switch to select OFF, SHORT (characteristics of a cable of approx. 3 meters), and LONG (characteristics of a cable of approx. 6 meters).when the receiver is off you can't fully insert the transmitter into the receiver for storage without draining the transmitter's battery. I solve this by not inserting the transmitter all the way into the receiver so no big deal, but still… A WL-20 system is literally as simple to use as a standard guitar cable. The small transmitter plugs into your instrument, while a matching receiver plugs into a pedal or amp. That’s it! Automatic Wireless Setup With PSA-S adaptor power, the receiver’s DC output can distribute power to one or more pedals using an optional PCS-20A daisy-chain cable You can use any of the three (the WL-20, WL-20L, or WL-50), but we recommend the WL-50, which lets you switch the CABLE TONE feature. When the receiver is powered via a BOSS PSA-S adaptor, it becomes a power distribution center for other stomps on your board. By using an optional PCS-20A daisy-chain cable, you’re able to power a number of BOSS compact pedals at the same time. Battery-Powered Operation for Mobile Gigging
