About this deal

Another premiered in late-night slots on Kitanihon Broadcasting, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and several independent TV stations, then appeared on Nippon BS Broadcasting beginning in April. [5] Jerkass to One: She isn't exactly a nice person to begin with, but she's very harsh and hostile towards Mei. Chekhov's Gun: Her doll making abilities allowed her to create a replacement eye for Mei. The Doll's Eye became crucial to identifying the Extra Student. Ax-Crazy: When she snaps, snap she does. She even gets a Slasher Smile when hunting Mei in Episode 11.

Clingy Jealous Girl: She tends to shoot a Death Glare at Mei whenever the other girl is around Kouichi. This isn't helped by the fact that she doesn't like Mei to begin with. Blemished Beauty: Mei lost her left eye due to a tumor when she was a child. Her mother gave her a doll's eye as a prosthetic and made it green, unlike Mei's real red eye, because she thought it would look nice. Mei prefers to wear an eyepatch over her doll's eye, but she's still fairly attractive. Cannot Spit It Out: Implied to have a crush on Kouichi and she does a pretty rough job at actually conveying her feelings.

Former Students

Tachibana - A 16 years old girl who was in 9 th grade class 3 in 1997. Also, the art club senpai, Tachibana gives Mei details about their non-existent student. Extremely Protective Child: One of the students set him off by hitting his aunt and mother figure Reiko also known as Ms. Mikami. Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He was the one responsible for letting the countermeasures group listen to Matsunaga's confession, unintentionally leading to the whole class becoming an angry mob against Mei. Further, no one ever calls him for it, either in the show or within the fandom. First-Name Basis: With Misaki, Mei's twin. This is important later. She also calls Izumi by her first name.

Misaki and Mei were best friends and often met in secret and were often found together. They talked to each other a lot, and told each other secrets, bathed together, slept together and dressed similarly etc. Mei was very attached to Misaki. In the live action film, the two are much closer (as Kouichi isn't friends with Naoya, Yuuya, Tomohiko, or Izumi in this adaption). It is only Mei and Kouichi who find Matsunaga's tape, and later the two go speak to him directly to learn about the curse. When the class starts ignoring both of them, they often cut class together, running through the halls or wandering around town. Kouichi defends Mei at the inn from Izumi and Takako, which causes his bad lung to flare again, though Mei takes care of him. That night, Mei got a call from Kirika, who'd already discouraged her from hanging around "that boy" as she didn't need anyone else. Kirika insisted she was the only person who could protect Mei, but her daughter refused to accept this, telling her she'd met someone else who cared for her and neither needed nor particularly wanted Kirika's protection anymore. But in Episode 5, it is revealed that Mei really exists when Kouichi finds the class roster along with a sheet of paper written "Ask Mei Misaki about it" in it. Kouichi visits the doll store once again and Mei takes him up to her apartment through an elevator hidden behind a curtain. She asked Kouichi if he suspected her of being a ghost. Mei assures him she is alive and is positive she has not died. Since, "it" has started again, Mei tells him everything about the class curse, unknown reasons of the deaths, and the prevention measures of the class. Kouichi and Mei's relationship continues to develop to the point that he frequently comes to Mei's apartment and on one such occasion, he meets Kirika, Mei's mom, who she says only treats her like the other dolls in her house. And they aren't don't yet, oh no. Not only were most of the deaths earlier on in the series blown way out of proportion, P.A. Works felt the need to try and make episode eleven able to rival the entirety of a series like Higurashi in terms of deaths and overblown character reactions. So here we have a bunch of teenagers scared for their life each and every day, wondering if they'll be the next There is also Another Ø, a 3-chapter title acting like a prologue to the original work... I'll be honest, I don't recall anything from reading it. I think that speaks enough of my opinion.I don't dislike rain. My favourite is the cold rain that falls in midwinter, just before it turns into snow." They are later seen at the Mikami family grave together on a sunny, warm day. The grave lists both Ritsuko, Kouichi's mother, and Reiko as deceased. Kouichi and Mei then talk about how they are the only ones to remember Mikami-sensei. They are also the only ones able to see her in the photo they took outside of the inn. Kouichi and Mei walk together, Kouichi asking why she doesn't answer her phone when he calls. Mei tells him that after the incident at the inn she threw her phone into the river because she hates those devices. She also mentions that her mother will without a doubt get her a new cell phone soon. Kouichi then asks if he may call her sometimes when she gets her new phone. She smiles and replies, "Sure." Then Kouchi asks if it is all over, with all the senseless death and Mei responds with a reassuring smile.
