About this deal
The addictive, savvy and steamy new romcom inspired by My Best Friend's Wedding from bestselling author Meghan Quinn the slow š„. Okay. Listen. I know. I know so many people are gonna want this to be a fast burn. But. The way that itās done here MAKES SENSE. Lia and Breaker have been best friends for a decade. For a chunk of the book, sheās with someone else. It needed to be on the slow burn side š¤·š»āāļø. Sure, Breaker couldāve pushed her, but he made sure to get her to FEEL š„µ the delicious tension š¦ between them. Itās the little touches that had even MY heart beating š and got lots of juices flowing š. He needed her to know that they are IT. This isnāt a game. Theyāre not just gonna move on. This is IT. And manā¦ did I enjoy it š. I fell for the cover and the premise of this book, a sort of Made of Honor meets My Best Friendās Wedding, and I went for it even if itās the last book in the series. But that really wasnāt the problem here since it does work as a standalone. I started it all happily anticipating the forbiddenness of developing feelings for your engaged bestie and giggling at the funny parts, encouraged that this could potentially be at least a 4 star book. I'll admit Lia, the FMC, was a little annoying and immature at times (and, yes, I'll choose to ignore the fact that we share a name, for the same reason listed before), and I didn't always agree with Breaker's decisions: I also cringed more times than I could count, but the book was overall cute and pretty enjoyable, and I guess I've read worse, at this point. This book was the ultimate cooked perfection. The chemistry between Breaker and Lia was absolutely amazing, but what she really loved was how well they understood and complemented each other. Their banter was witty and funny while also having the kind of honest and open communication that strengthened their relationship.
I received an ARC of this title from the author. The excerpts are from that copy. I am voluntarily reviewing this title. Lia and Breaker meet in college at a top secret Scrabble society and instantly became best friends. Cue ten years later, where they live next door to each other and Lia is newly engaged. Breaker offers to be her man in waiting, and in the midst of all the wedding madness, he realises he is completely and utterly in love with his best friend. Meghan Quinn is an USA Today Bestselling author, adoptive mother, wife, and lover of peanut butter. She brings her readers the perfect blend of humor, heat, and heart in each of the books that she writes.h has been dating a guy for 1ā5-2 years. Three weeks before her parents died in a car accident. Now she is engaged with OM. Funny, sweet and romantic, A Long Time Coming was an absolute treat. Breaker and Lia were adorable together and I loved watching them realize there was more than friendship between them.
Breaker as a best friend. I mean. This man stands up for Lia when no one else does (Iām looking at you Brian šš). He made me SWOOOON!!! This is as even MORE important because Brian wasnāt standing up to his mother; his mother was basically walking all over Lia, and Brian not doing anything aggravated me to no end š¤¬ I loved the romance inspired by my best friendās wedding from friends to lovers so much! A Long Time Coming is the 3 and also final book about the Cane brothers. If you havenāt read A So Not Meet Cute or So Not Meant to Be yet, you should. The books stand on their own (you donāt have to read them before this one), but theyāre all so fun, cute, and spicy.Weāre also getting some hints of Bannerās next love story and Iām nervous! I have strong feelings about this (Nichole!). Iām excited to see where this story will go (take Nichole) and canāt wait to read what this author has to come up with next! Meghan can be found listening to inspiring, heart rippng music, with her head buried in her Kindle, or typing on her computer, turning and twisting the lives of her characters as she drives her readers crazy with anticipation.
Billionaire Breaker Cane is a down to earth awesome guy who realizes he has feelings for his bestie, Lia, of 10 years, when she becomes engaged to her boyfriend. With wedding planning underway and a short timeline, my best friend, Lia, has recruited me to help her battle the snarly beast that is Mrs. Beaver. Not scared at all, I accept the challenge as her man-in-waitingāaka, man of honorāand take matters into my own hands. It isnāt until Breaker sees Lia in her wedding dress that something awakens in him. Something that involves feelingsā¦ Fans fell in love with each and every one of the friends in the novel. These characters are so well written that readers felt each tear and all the laughter. Readers enjoyed all the glimpses into the lives of all these characters. Brady and Jane are simply delicious. Fans enjoy all the drama, the hot times, and some irrational and sweet times, with some devastation. Breaker and Lia are great couple with incredible banter, chemistry and an incredible connection. Their romance was an engaging, sexy, lighthearted slow burn that I wish we could get more of.And I adored Lia. I loved her sass, wit, vulnerability, and loving heart. During the prologue, her character was practically ME in college!
And Lia was made for him. I love her so much and she deserves the freaking world, honestly. It made me so mad how her self-esteem got ruined by that bastard Brian and his witch of a mother. Iām just glad that she finally realised what a piece of work he actually is and left him for someone who actually deserves her! Everything is different with you. Itās as if I can see better, hear better, taste better. Youāve brought vivid color into my life, Lia. Youāre the one pumping the oxygen through my veins.ā Breaker and Lia are 1000% my favorite couple from the series. Their connection runs so deep, and they understand one another in such an amazing way. Their decade as best friends created the strongest foundation for a lasting relationship. Every shared interest, every game night, every sleepover, every fight, every past relationship all built up to the point where love was no longer friendlyāit was fierce. This is how you do a best-friends to lovers and make it impossible not to root for the main characters to end up together.Amazing. I am absolutely in love with this book. It was so funny and I am a huge fan of friends to lovers so this was done so well. I love when the characters continuously tease each other. They play fight and always joke around with one another and itās the best thing ever. The fact that they are best friends turned lovers was just so so fun to see. Also itās āhe falls firstā and oh my god is it amazing. Moving on from that, everything else was just amazing!! These two prove that friends to lovers is an amazing and over-hated trope. Seeing the way they cared for each other platonically and romantically was just so endearing!! It had my heart racing and melting at the same time! Theyāre just so freaking adorable!!
