About this deal
You connect the cable (from the Telewest box on the wall) to the IN and connect the 3 cables running to your rooms to the 3 OUT. If anyone has any experience of this Hub 3/V6 installation and how it was done and/or any suggestions how I could get the installation I want I'd be grateful for any input. Have tried speaking to Virgin but like everyone else they are short staffed and after waiting ages for chat support the operator had no idea what I was talking about!! The phone also starts life in the NTL box on the outside wall - it's just routed along the outside of the building before coming in through the office wall. The TVs are exactly the same model. One of the cables is 10m long because it goes through to a different room, the other is short. If you’re using a TV antenna, make sure to run a channel scan and note the indicated signal strength of each channel, which may point to the need for an amplifier. Final Thoughts

Anyway, this splitter should work as long as the other issues I've refered to above are dealt with accordingly: I am considering moving my V6 boxes to beside the router in the hall as the remotes do not require line of sight to work. The splitter outside the house (on the pic above - btw - by old, do you mean the cable connectors? We were only connected up last year, but I guess the original - Nynex probably- fittings are still in use - just the splitter and second cable box coax are new. I'd probably leave that to Virgin if I'm honest, although I have 20 odd F/aeriel connections to make up). TV1" is routed via some trunking buried behind the skirting board/plaster up through a brush plate and in to the V+ box. Thanks for the reply. Pretty sure the 'splitter' in the box on the side of the house isn't an attenuator (just the two way splitter mentioned above) and there isn't one on the cable box itself (the white wall box on the inside of the house where the cable enters contains what just seems to be an isolator - just in and out to the cable box). I'd say you're right but I don't think I'd be able to resist removing the blanking plate to have a look! Is it possible it feeds n extension elsewhere in you flat rather than someone elses. I've not seen many to compare but usually they split off before they go to each flat, not once inside the flat? I need to get in there and see whether that it is the only out or not. If it is, I'll need to split somewhere - either inside or out. I believe I could simply re-route the cabling from upstairs to down, but that'd require another hole drilled through to the lounge. So, I need to investigate splitting inside the house, although this will obviously be a split of a split, unless that wall box has multiple output feeds. I just need to rotate the box, it seems over the top to pay £75 for a engineer to undo 2 screws!

If you don’t have a wired connection in a different room, you are forced to watch catch up streaming services like Iplayer. What are the pros and cons of Virgin Media broadband? Pros High-Quality Coaxial Cable. Watch the same SSL channels in a different location. SSL, SSL plus & SSL HD compatible.... to 6 inches. It does not seem feasible or plausible to bury a Virgin Media cable at a depth of only 1 inch. Ok - is that splitter on the outside of my house (the one where you've suggested I can merely use a barrel connector for the incoming signal to the house) ok to use in the loft rather than purchasing another one? Do I need to pay much heed to that 4db and 3.6db inputs i.e. if I moved this splitter to the loft would I need to follow the inputs as they were on the outside of the house - main input feed (for Tivo and Router) 4db whilst the 3.6db is used for the second cable box?Yes, you must keep the coax cable away from electrical cables to avoid interference with the signal. Despite the coax cable being shielded to prevent corruption of the signal, it’s still possible if electric cables are laid next to the coax. We've all dealt with wire jungles in our rooms and halls. They just crop up, a natural tangle of cords formed by the devices we connect to each oth...
