The game, which was basically a watered down, Simpsons-lead take on the sandbox genre that GTA popularised, allowed you to play as Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Apu, and cause havoc in the town of Springfield. It’s hard to believe that a game franchise has been on television for nearly as long as The Simpsons. Games based on the popular show are not only cult classics, but also some of the most underrated games from over a decade ago. Despite the popularity of the show, however, quality varies greatly between Simpsons games, with some games scoring better than others. Below, we’ll take a look at some of the best games, as well as a brief overview of the best Xbox One game releases of each type. I can play the arcade game all day. I was glad I was able to get that game when it was released on PS3/360.Hit & Run is just so good. Yes, it’s dated now but I could still have plenty fun driving around Springfield. There are also wasp cameras to destroy, coins to collect, automobiles to win or buy, jokes to find, street races to enter, and costumes for your favorite characters to buy. Each of its characters is identical to those in the original, with Homer, Marge, Bart, Maggie, and Lisa in playable form. Hit & Run features an open world similar to that of 2001’s Grand Theft Auto III, but done so in more of a satirical way, in typical Simpsons fashion. Though the recreation still needs some work with its open-world aspects (like more variety in buildings and other features to make the world feel more alive), the foundation of an impressive game is there. It’s unclear if its creator plans to keep fleshing things out, but nonetheless, this looks and is presented just like the game you remember.

Hit and Run was great. It was one of the first console games I ever played, so I have a lot of fond memories of it. Even though it's not clear if or when The Simpsons: Hit & Run original game will be remade or remastered, Media Molecule's Dreams lets you relive the crazy adventures from the game with its version.I’m old enough to remember playing the arcade game in an actual arcade. The hit-and-run action-adventure game was a cult classic with 3D Springfield, quest objectives, and an open world. The game’s playstyle was similar to Grand Theft Auto. Now, with the reubs update, the game is open world and features online multiplayer. I only ever played one of these... Simpsons Wrestling. PenguinLtd Yeah it is — There are so many great games (like Simpsons Arcade) which are just languishing in limbo because of all the various rights holders that own a piece of it. LilianaQuinn83 I always thought the reason we haven't seen anymore is because EA have the phone game printing gold for them. So maybe they don't want another console game as it won't make money like the phone game does. They made their own Simpsons Game after Hit & Run and it wasn't as good so they wouldnt want to work with Activsion as that would be like saying Vivendi Games (now Activision) made the better game and opening those doors for them to make a sequel. They know Hit & Run is more popular than their own. They didn't even release their own game into the EA vault as far as I know so I think they are just trying to keep the games hidden to themselves so it doesn't hurt their phone money. There have been some famously poor screen-to-console flops in the history of games: ET on the Atari, the Harry Potter games on PlayStation, Enter the Matrix on PS2 and Kinect Star Wars are just some of the miserable failures that spring to mind.You may enter the beloved Hit and Run universe once more thanks to Dreams user ReivaJKH's accurate replica of the original. Like many of the fantastic Dreams remakes, including this one of Ghost of Tsushima, this one looks, sounds, and plays a lot like the original. I know we'll never get a remaster of hit & run I just wish they'd add the PS2 version it's really crap that we've got so few PS2 games available on the PS4 / PS5

It's my favourite Simpsons game and the only one i want to see return more than anything. Really enjoyed The Simpsons Game (EAs game) too and would love to see that on PS4&5 also. Even though you don't know if the game's creator plans to keep working on it, it has the same look and feel as the game you remember. The members of the Simpson family who are mentioned are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Apu Nahasapeemapetilon. The sequel would have included a more advanced physics engine. However, due to the fact that EA had the rights to make the game, the sequel never materialized. EDIT: the ps4 remote works with input mapper, but the controllers are REALLY MESS UP. working on fixing that
