About this deal

We think the Pococo Galaxy projector is a great, reasonably priced buy. It does what it is supposed to — it projects high-quality imagery onto any surface to immerse you in the wonders of what the universe has to offer, maintaining a static picture or slowly rotating image. Most star projectors come with a 'sleep timer' that will switch the device off after a specified amount of minutes. You will need to set up your phone's Bluetooth before you begin, but this is a seamless experience, with the device being up and running within moments. Bresser Junior Astro-Planetarium DeluxeThis Bresser planetarium star projector, designed for kids, has true-to-life projections, a five-year warranty and is simple to operate. It has a time and date selector, a shooting star function and a sleep timer, and it ships with two disks.★★★½

POCOCO Home Planetarium Star Projector: Ultra Clear Galaxy POCOCO Home Planetarium Star Projector: Ultra Clear Galaxy

A hands-on star projector for home learning. It functions as both a night light and a slide projector. Encalife Ambience Galaxy & Star Projector:A neat combination of a star projector and Bluetooth speaker built into one. It isn't scientifically accurate but it displays vivid nebula-inspired patterns to enhance the ambience in any room. ★★★½ The only downside with the Atmosphere Smart Galaxy Projector is that the nebulas and stars aren't scientifically accurate. Still, we enjoyed the experience so much that we didn't feel short-changed. We were especially happy with the option to adjust both the brightness and the projection speed, which makes the device great for setting a calm environment or an energetic party scene. Despite its compact size and unassuming appearance, this USB-powered projector is powerful for transforming any room into a celestial-like wonderland. When connected to a USB power source, it projects hundreds of laser stars in a single color, creating a truly immersive and atmospheric experience. Whether you're a gamer looking to enhance your gaming environment, a parent looking to create a magical bedtime routine for your child (ensure they can't look directly into the beam), or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of the cosmos, this star projector will surely delight. BlissLights Sky Lite EvolveThe nebulas are bright and endearing, complimented perfectly by the hue of the blue/green lasers. This is a great option for anyone shopping for a mood-enhancing star projector (rather than a scientific one). ★★★½

If you are looking for a high-quality star projector that produces bright, colorful, and sharp images, this is a great choice.

Then there are scientific home planetariums that generally project 'real imagery,' so you can study and enjoy projections of real galaxies and nebulas from the comfort of your own home without investing in expensive astronomy equipment. These are much more likened to the more traditional planetariums that teach astronomy and related sciences. The Pococo Galaxy Star Projector is a worthy addition to this guide, and it is a good rival to the National Geographic Astro Planetarium and the much more expensive Sega Homestar Flux. During our full Pococo Galaxy star projector review, we found it a good value star projector with decent build and projection quality. There is a timer function that you can set for the projector to turn off after 15, 30 or 60 minutes. If you don't select one, the device will auto-power off after two hours. For us, this is a little short. If you wanted to project this alongside a sci-fi film for example it wouldn't last the duration. We'd prefer four hours as a minimum. During our Atmosphere Smart Galaxy Projector review, we were impressed by its sleek design that's sure to delight many: it's modern and compact, allowing the user to place it anywhere in the household without ruining the aesthetic. The unit can be adjusted to four angles, making it flexible enough to project from your selected surface onto the wall or ceiling.

Star projectors come in different shapes, specifications and sizes because they serve various purposes. Some models are designed as night lights for children, so they are simpler and prioritize creating a pleasant atmosphere rather than realistic star patterns. On the other hand, there are highly accurate star projectors that provide a scientific representation of the night sky, giving you the experience of being inside a planetarium. Here's one for space fans and paleontology enthusiasts alike. The second novelty-shaped projector in this guide and it's surprisingly capable in terms of functionality, and during our Dinosaur Egg Galaxy Star Projector review our children loved it! For a non-scientific projector, consider the BlissLights Sky Lite Evolve. This projector's primary purpose is to create an exciting, colorful atmosphere for parties, bedrooms, gaming rooms and beyond. Like the Pococo, it has a small, discreet, spherical design, and you can control the lights and lasers using a Smartphone app. Aurora Borealis Northern Lights Star ProjectorIt's highly customizable, the patterns are realistic and the music rhythm mode is impressive. This is one of our favorites. ★★★★½

This rechargeable star projector emits bright, colorful and sharp imagery that gives the best star projectors we've tested a run for their money.

The design quality is top notch, it really projects at HD quality. The galaxy scenes and colors are incredibly vivid and realistic. You can see every detail of the galaxy and stars unlike other room projectors that blurs or greys out. I also like how it rotates slowly like watching a real constellation, and how you can switch them out whenever you want based on your mood. Though clearly not a scientific star projector, it would transform your gaming room, party atmosphere or sleeping environment. As the motor is very quiet — near silent, in fact, the motor noise won't be a distraction, allowing you to focus on the immersive and impressive light patterns. The fact that it is rechargeable is a plus compared to the much more expensive Sega Toys Homestar Flux as it means you aren't limited to keeping it near a power source. The colored design might not be for everyone, but it's still quite discrete, and a white option is available for an additional cost.A well-known favorite amongst space fans. The sophisticated design and pin-sharp images delivered by the 5-Watt LED make this a desirable model. Like many other star projectors, there's a 'shooting star' function, although, in our Sega Homestar Flux review, we explained how we'd like this to be at random intervals, or in a different place each time so it isn't as predictable. It has an automatic switch-off after 15, 30 or 60 minutes function.
