About this deal

The Alpha 9 Gen 4 does a decent job of upscaling a film that can come across as quite noisy. The filters take care of the worst of that while leaving some impressive skin details in the close-ups. Tom Cruise’s battle-hardened Reacher is complete with pits and scars and everything you’d expect. The best solution is, of course, to buy a soundbar or dedicated home cinema system. But you knew that, right? Verdict Oh Wow! To see this at Richer Sounds was impressive but to unbox it and place it in our lounge was a magical experience and we started with an Attenborough! Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output If you’re mad about movies, you’ll love Filmmaker Mode. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended.

Interestingly, it’s the preset called ‘Eco’ that gives the fastest access to the right SDR picture. That’s because the viewing is best without too many of the brightness boosters that would otherwise blow out all of the detail. Add in just a small level of the contrast enhancer, modulate just a touch with the contrast slider and you’ll pretty much have it all. Great buying experience I needed an urgent upgrade to my 32 inch none smart tv so i went to the store as i like to see things in person. the sales assistant was very knowlegeable about the tv's and shown me a few different models and sizes but this LG 48 inch really was amazing in term of picture quality and features. LG OLED48C36LA review - Which?

Excellent picture and surprisingly good sound I have had this TV for 3 weeks now and am very satisfied with its overall performance. The colour is excellent in all lighting conditions and it has a rich sound without the need for an additional sound-bar which many TVs seem to need. That’s all controlled by the brains of the TV, the latest incarnation of LG's Alpha 9 processor, the quad-core Alpha 9 Gen 4. With this new birth comes a few picture and sound upgrades. Object Enhancement is now sophisticated enough to recognise whole bodies as well as faces, animals, cars and other things. Sound can now be upmixed to an Atmos-virtualised 5.1.2. One of the great reasons to buy an LG TV is that it comes with almost every feature available. In fact, pretty much the only compromise you have to make is that it doesn’t support Samsung’s HDR10+ standard. But, what with Dolby Vision still being the market leader in the dynamic HDR space, we don’t see that as much of a problem. There’s also Dolby Vision IQ, which you enable by turning on LG’s AI Brightness Setting while watching Dolby Vision content. This adjusts your screen’s output according to the ambient light in the room. For ultimate detail, in all environments, this LG OLED features Dolby Vision IQ. Dolby Vision IQ version uses data within the signal and light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is. Whether you’re watching a brightly lit sports event or moody movie, Dolby Vision IQ adjusts to suit. The LG OLED C2 is powered by webOS, LG's smart platform that supports a wide range of the top streaming services, including Freeview Play, NOW, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and more, while making browsing and searching for things to watch a breeze, even with hands-free voice control. The LG Magic Remote can be used to control the smart platform, and the LG C2 with built-in Google Assistant and Alexa can also be used to control your smart home.

The LG OLED C2 is equipped with the latest 9 Gen5 AI processor 4K, which is capable of automatically identifying and optimising the material you're watching for the best possible picture and sound. Widely regarded as one of the best smart TV platforms, LG’s webOS system continues to set the standard. The latest webOS 22 offers improved personalisation and recommendations. You can create up to six personalised profiles, with individual viewing suggestions, sport alerts and app lists. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits) Previously only available on higher models, AI Picture Pro and AI Sound Pro are now standard on the OLED48A26LA. AI Picture Pro uses deep-learning algorithms to recognise content, remove noise and optimise the picture. AI Sound Pro leans from more than 17 million audio data points, identifying voices, effects and frequencies. From here, it optimises the sound by genre, giving a more natural sound quality.
