This is a really handy way for kids to visualise numbers and how they relate to each other. Not only does each cut-out come with a clear and simple number shape, there are also some lovely eye-catching illustrations too! These Numicon ideas for early years are great for visual learners, encouraging multisensory learning and helping to make numbers and maths feel a little less abstract for your students.

Number bonds, also known as 'number pairs', are simply the pairs of numbers that can be combined to make a given number. Teaching children about the different combinations of numbers that can be used to make numbers up to 10 gives them a solid foundation to build upon when it comes to learning about addition, subtraction, and place value. Or, have a nose at this simple, but effective, 'Part-Whole' Worksheet to introduce your kiddos to basic concepts of early maths skills. What are Number Bonds of 10?Tell your child how old they are by holding up the correct amount of fingers, count up to their age, using a finger each time. This would be great if it worked with the Numicon plates but they need to be the same colour as the Numicon. As the children learn to count by the colours.
