About this deal

This old thing was mentioned again. An Zhe was still worried about Lu Feng raising the spore to death and then he suddenly remembered the appearance of the spore. Neither was a good thing. He didn’t know and could only say, “I gave birth to it.” I adore Little Mushroom, and had read the first book twice before reading the second. The second book continued to introduce new horrors, new characters, and new developments in An Zhe and Lu Feng’s growth as individuals and a pair.

you can tell that it wasn’t originally supposed to be two books and was one cohesive story, but it doesn’t matter to me because i’m read book #2 asap Translation (if i got anything wrong, pls tell me! these terms were translated with my beginner level chinese, google translate, and pleco): If I were a mushroom and had such a traitorous child I’d be upset too and maybe eat Lu Feng just for the hell of it. This mushroom has been known to push its way through asphalt and lift the corners of paving stones. Its strength is down to the vertically-aligned hyphae in the stems. The base has been safe for too long. I always forget that safety is temporary and danger is eternal. Living is not what we deserve. To live is a gift.” I’m crazy impressed with the story. I couldn’t put this book down, it was addicting. The concept alone drew me in, but the way the story went had me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what would happen next, it was not at all predictable. To some people, it might feel like a mishmash of events, but not to me. I knew that it was leading up to this moment of reunion between An Zhe and his spore the whole time, it was just a matter of how we were going to get there. Speaking of, the author is genius for the way she did this. The main objective of the story (An Zhe reuniting with his spore) is laid out in the first chapter, and then several events happen in the middle that show characters development and allows us to get close to certain side characters, and then the goal is accomplished in the last chapter. We have a solid conclusion to the main part of the story, but both An Zhe and the readers are in too deep to not continue. Key features: Cup shaped to saucer shaped, up to 4cm across. The upper surface is a brilliant scarlet red, fading with age to orange. The underside is paler and downy. Attached by a little stalk.

Look, I can’t comment on the accuracy. One day I’ll be able to read the source material, but that day is not today. However, at this point, I have tried reading a novel from just about every publisher who is tl-ing Asian works and this has managed to impress me. First, it’s very smooth. There are no typos, nor any strange formatting issues like dropping a line mid-sentence, random spacing changes, etc (looking at you, WE). There are no awkward word choices or strangely written sentences. It feels professional, and since this is a small business, that’s even more impressive! I am looking forward to reading more of their works. An Zhe, Lu Feng, and Poet go mattress shopping. Language: English Words: 333 Chapters: 1/1 Comments: 2 Kudos: 19 Hits: 203 The Woodland Trust is a charity registered in England and Wales (No. 294344) and in Scotland (No. SC038885). A non-profit-making company limited by guarantee. Registered in England No. 1982873. Book two dials up the plot to a thousand with fast paced action, twists and turns, and a truly despair-inducing apocalyptic vibe. However, it also continues to explore the emotional themes introduced in book one such as human kindness in the midst of turmoil and what ultimately defines the nature of humanity. Speaking of emotions, you will have many and you'll probably tear up at at least one point. The characters in this book are incredibly well-developed. The author has a talent for making characters feel vivid and real, whether they're a passerby described in one sentence or someone who'll accompany the reader for a few chapters. An Zhe in particular was a delightful protagonist. His perspective on the story events and his exploration of what it means to live as a human is equal parts endearing, funny and bittersweet. As for Lu Feng - I won't say much but as the second most important character, every scene with him in it had me gripped!

Until the day humanity falls." In the year 2020, Earth's magnetic poles disappeared and humankind was nearly wiped out by cosmic radiation. Within the span of a hundred years, living creatures began to mutate and devour each other while the remaining humans, numbering in the tens of thousands, struggled bitterly in their man-made bases. In the Abyss, home to the mutated xenogenics, there lived a sentient little mushroom. Because it had been nourished by the blood and flesh of the deceased human An Ze, not only did it take on a similar-looking human form, but a similar name as well: An Zhe. An Zhe is determined to go to the human base to search for his spore, which had been harvested by humans. Once there, however, he faces the omnipresent risk of discovery and certain death as he tries to keep his non-human nature hidden from the Judges, whose responsibility is to inspect for and eliminate xenogenics like himself. And of all the Judges, Colonel Lu Feng is the most perceptive and merciless―as soon as he determines that someone is a xenogenic, he will execute that person on the spot. But An Zhe's mutation goes undetected by Lu Feng's eyes, and so a tale of humans and xenogenics unfolds…

An Zhe lived in An Ze’s apartment and found a job at Boss Shaw’s studio to make real life dolls. This was one of the funniest part of the novel. Truly unforgettable! He even made a life sized doll of Lu Feng which saved him during an assassination attempt. I think every Dystopian novel brings to the front questions of morality and humanity. Some do it better, and some less so, but it’s always at the front when facing a fallen society. Judgment Day is interesting in that, in its exploration of morality, righteousness, human nature, and the humane, it has a clear side… and that side is with the Arbitrator, who is seen by many as a cold-blooded murderer. While reading, you’re likely to be on his side as well. But looking at it objectively, if I were living in that world, I’ll probably be among those protesting his “cruelty” and demanding transparency, if only because that transparency can in turn suppress discourse and dissonance.
