The iRobot Roomba i7+ is an impressive choice from iRobot’s line of robot vacuums. Roomba was already enough for us to leave sweeping and vacuuming ourselves in the dust, but now it’s practically irresistible. The map will be ready to go after 3 - 4 cleaning runs at the latest, so you can access it in the app. The device has an excellent finish and looks very classy. The materials used seem to be of very high-quality. Cleaning crumbs is now as easy as “Roomba, clean under the kitchen table”. This intuitive experience only from iRobot means that a request to your voice assistant* or via the iRobot Home App enables the Roomba® i7/i7+ Robot Vacuum to clean up mess for you, right when it happens – immediately clean that spot and consider it done.

The iRobot app is another highlight of the Roomba i7 Plus. The app offers a lot of great features and is still super user-friendly. Since the Roomba i7+ probably cleans the home several times a week, dirt can hardly accumulate in the corners. The mapping system can strangely remember only up to 10 floor plans at a time, which you can name either with set names or custom names. We imagine this is both because iRobot isn’t charging users to store their floor plans in its cloud servers and that its servers only have so much space for everyone’s Roomba i7+ maps. Roomba i7+ is suitable for pet owners because pet hair can’t wrap itself around the rubber brushes.

Making the worst part of robot vacuums a lot better

This alleviates what is arguably the most annoying part of using a robot vacuum: emptying the bin. However, it’s clear that this product introduces a cost of operation that few, if any, other robot vacuums require. You also don't have to learn a sentence by heart and recite it the same way over and over again. The voice control is very sophisticated, and your Roomba i7 Plus understands variations of voice commands. The " Plus" in the Roomba i7+ stands for the self-emptying dust bin ("Clean Base") that comes with it. That said, even if you run your Roomba i7+ daily, that adds up to a rather tiny operating cost every two to three months. That’s not too shabby, but you might bristle at how much cash iRobot stands to make on these bag replacements.

While the Clean Base doesn’t take up any more floor space than a regular charger, it’s significantly higher and won’t fit under furniture, so you need to place it somewhere out in the open.The Roomba i7+ does a great job here, too, and removes 60% of the sand on the short carpet and 70% on the higher carpet. The intelligent household helper automatically detects during cleaning whether a particular area is more heavily soiled, thanks to special sensors . The robotic vacuum cleaner hardly reached its limits with the lentils ( short carpet: 94%, long carpet 98%). Once you have the rooms sorted, you can get the robot to clean just a specific room or your entire house. The same goes for scheduling, so you can clean different parts of your home at different times.
