About this deal

Unlike similar books on the subject, which often blend the tradition with other paths (Wicca being the most common) this book stays true to the roots of what Hedge Witchcraft is, and isn’t. You might even feel like your home is its own type of spiritual entity. Have you ever seen the Howl’s Moving Castle animation? It’s a beautiful story about magic and seeing the home as an actual place of spiritual connection. not very tactful when dealing with others. I prefer my own company but do get lonely upon occasion. I am not celibate. I prefer to think I was born with a sexual drive to learn to.master it and be responsible choosing to use it in a healthy manner.

A lovely little novella that explores the complexities of identity, friendship, and career path choices through the lens of a young witch. I can imagine a stereotypial hedge witch, g oing out and foraging, drying herbs on the attic, and having their favorite path that they go for a walk each day. I was delighted to hear from Lucy Wright about her inspirational work as a ‘hedge witch morris dancer’. This is self-initiated solitary morris and is for everyone, particularly those who normally feel excluded from morris ‘on the grounds of gender, race, class or disability.’ She goes on to say, ‘I’m busily trying to invite as many interested people as possible (they can dance wherever in the world they happen to be) and sharing the resources they might need to give it a go.’ If you are a hedge witch you might find yourself following a couple or all of the things mentioned below.

This novella is clearly targeted towards a younger audience, fitting largely into the coming of age type genre. Although targeted at a younger audience, it is still a brilliantly cosy read for readers of all ages. According to my choices in the quiz, I am a Hedge Witch! As I read through the signs listed, I find that not all of them pertain to me, although a good many do. Should I be concerned that I do not fall into all those areas listed. I have tried many times to fulfill my inner desires but I get so confused at times that I just postpone my dreams once again! This is so frustrating to me. I have tried to find my moon sign, but I do not know the time of my birth so that sets me in a tizzy as well. And light a third candle to welcome the kindly dead, saying ‘May this flame be seen in the Otherworld as it is in this World.’ Wild Witchcraft: Folk Herbalism, Garden Magic, and Foraging for Spells, Rituals, and Remedies (Hardcover) THE LAMP OF THE GODDESS appears to be different. There are no instructions for hedge witchcraft in it at all. It is about reincarnation, the cycles of life, death and rebirth and the fate of Atlantis. And yet. And yet the book focuses upon the Dark Goddess (not an evil Deity but ‘Dark’ in the sense of hidden – like the scientific concept of ‘dark matter’ – and concerned with the realm of the dead as a place of healing and renewal. She has been known by many names, worldwide, and to the traditional hedge witch or priest/ess She is Huldra, Lady of Wisdom or Freya (the Lady) who is Mistress of Elves and leader of the Valkyries. (So for me, it is not so far after all, from the temples of Atlantis to the nearest hedgerow.)

Meanwhile try as she might, the wonders of hedgecraft don’t come easy to Rowan with her aunt lecturing her non-stop about the majesty of such craft and telling her she must try harder, all while trying to make new friends, really doesn’t make for a very relaxing summer after all even when she does start to make friends and develops a crush on a rather handsome individual which obviously means she will make a total fool of herself. I finally got the chance to read this book, I bought it used. As a person who doesn't know any fellow witches to share her views with, I thought this would be a book to read. With your eyes closed, visualise the candle you have lit for the dead and the darkness around it. See what is illuminated by the candle. How far does its light go? Begin to name your Beloved Dead and bid them welcome. See who is appearing to your inner sight. Speak to them in your heart and see if you can sense an answer. This may come in words or as a sort of inner knowing or they may show you symbols. Bless them and ask them to bless you in return. This kind of thing is called a petitioning. It works effectively if you have made, through the plant, a connection with Nature that is respectful and of goodwill. (Some other plants that can help with prosperity magic are flax, oats, wheat, pine and oak. But each species has its own particular take on matters such as sufficiency or abundance. Your spells can be framed accordingly.)

There are a few facebooks group that you find in your circle, and it’s highly inspirational for your studies. Yet not necessary for you to be a part of your practice. For all hedge morris dancers, there will be ‘a “Dusking” celebration that will take place at 16.43 on October 31st. This will be to welcome the winter and the gifts of reflection, rest and replenishment that the darker months can bring……’ SPELLCRAFT FOR HEDGE WITCHES teaches the magic that can help a wise hedge witch to survive in a harsh time or to come through a personal crisis. It contains spells to banish bad spirits, to counter an ill wish, to bring psychic protection, to transform destructive feelings, to heal a trauma, to bring justice and to consecrate your life to a creative purpose. (These are some of the many ways in which we can help to heal wounded lives.) As a Hedge Witch, you are more likely to practice on your own in the comfort of your home. You find it more appealing to study the magic in your own way and pace. The practice that you do is informal, domestic, and based around everyday activities.

AUTUMN EQUINOX 2022

THE WAY INTO FAERIE looks at what is on the far side of the hedge – the Otherworldly dimension – and at who lives there. It explains how we may relate to ancestral spirits and non-carnate species (known as faeries) as well as to nature spirits. This book is written from the point of view of a natural psychic – a fey person – rather than specifically a hedge witch. It is about our Pagan ancestors’ beliefs concerning the Dead and the faerie races and is based on a great deal of research. However, it is not scholarly but experiential and, I hope, also inspirational. In this book there are fictional sections interspersed with non-fiction and memoir. The fictional bits contain characters, an older woman and her apprentice, who are hedge witches. (Their male equivalents are described as well.) To be honest, as a hedge witch, you probably don’t even like when someone tells you how to do things, and you are most likely to do spells and recipes your way. Always adding a small personal touch to everything.

Pour out spring water or milk or honey for the Fae or sing to them as an offering. Finally, clear away anything you have brought, such as tealight holders or anything else non-biodegradable or in any way likely to harm wildlife. This might slowly come true with your intentional practice, as you will find yourself stepping more into this hedge witchery practice. So what is hedge witchcraft? Hedge witchcraft is often seen today as a solitary pursuit, crafting one’s life in a magical way that reflects the talents and abilities of the practitioner. The term hedge witch was coined by the author Rae Beth in her book, Hedge Witch: A Guide to Solitary Witchcraft (1992). She took the term “hedge” from “hedge priest”, one who preached from the hedgerow, and who had no physical place for a congregation. A renegade, a solitary, a priest who didn’t follow the rules. This still appeals to many today, myself included. This story focuses on Rowan Greenfinch, a witch who's mother sends her to Wales during the summer holidays to spend some time in the countryside with her eccentric Aunt Winnifred and learn more about the family tradition of Hedgecraft. Name what you need e.g. constant prosperity, good fortune, success…..Name it three times.) Then say:The HEART Book Trilogy! 1 , 2 and 3 volume.
