About this deal

Paring the best accessories with the Fujifilm X-T5 can elevate your photography experience, allowing for more creative freedom and efficient production. From lens filters to camera straps, the right accessory can make a big difference in the quality of your shots and overall satisfaction with the camera. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, choosing the right accessories for your Fuji X-T5 can greatly enhance your creative journey. The firmware bug has been fixed, which caused the color reproduction looks bad in the under-exposure area of the image when taking the photo under the following conditions. In all, the X-T5 takes a very photo-oriented approach to its ergonomics. Fuji includes an on-screen Silent Video Control for video, but the cinema-minded creator is much better served with an X-H2 or X-H2S. These models support ProRes recording either at 8K (for the X-H2) or at 4K with fast sensor readout for the X-H2S, along with a mainstream Mode-based control scheme. Fujifilm offers a wide range of lenses as part of its X system, a benefit of its decade-plus time in the market. It's one area where the X-T5 bests the Canon EOS R7; while Canon has been making SLR lenses forever, its mirrorless system is relatively young, and there are fewer to choose from in Canon RF mount, especially if you're talking about bright, lightweight primes. The X-T series has sometimes enjoyed flagship status, and indeed the X-T4 was the top-line Fuji camera from the time of its release, while also being a slight departure from earlier models. Its silhouette is a bit larger and a front-facing LCD was added to meet the wants and needs of videographers.

As an XT4 owner, the controls on the XT5 feel very familiar. The major difference in the design is the screen. The XT4 has a hinge at the left-hand side that allows it to tilt or flip to the side or forward. The XT5 screen instead pulls outward on a large unfolding metal frame. It can also turn to one side by pressing a button and pulling out. But, The XT5 screen won’t face forward for selfies or vlogging. It also won’t flip closed to prevent scratches or chimping, like the XT4. But, the XT5 screen design does feel much sturdier. Otherwise, the XT5 feels very much like the XT4’s controls. Imagine your hand shakes by 1 degree during the exposure and there's no stabilization active. The visible blur is defined by:The autofocus system is actually worse than the one in the XT-3. The XT-3 is not fancy and looks outdated when compared with the current generation, but when the XT-3 confirms focus, the resulting image is always sharp. The XT-5 is all over the place, 30%-40% of my shots are focused on something random, not where the camera told me it had acquired it. The XT-5 tries to be more flexible and intelligent in the UI, but then fails at actually delivering a result. The X-T5 uses the same NP-W235 batteries as its predecessor. It's a 16Wh unit that powers the camera to a rating of 590 shots per charge using the viewfinder or 580 shots using the rear screen. These numbers drop to 500 and 570 shots, respectively, if you use Boost mode to up the refresh rate of the finder to 100fps or the rear screen to 60fps. There are other options out there that many of my friends use, I just don’t have a lot of experience with them.

On the bright side, this helps folks who are hit by the GAS syndrome not to end up with 5 or 6 battery chargers ... like someone I know ... Mirrorless Cameras Canon EOS-R Mirrorless Cameras Fujifilm X Mirrorless Cameras Nikon Z Cameras Sony Alpha Cameras Panasonic Lumix S Cameras Panasonic Lumix G Cameras Olympus OM-D & PEN Cameras Canon EOS-M Mirrorless Cameras Sigma Mirrorless Cameras The X-T5's viewfinder is the largest yet in an X-T camera. It presents a large 0.8x image to your eye with 3.7 million dots of resolution and a smooth 100fps display. It's one area where the X-T5 significantly betters the Canon EOS R7, which has a so-so 0.71x/2.4-million-dot viewfinder. My only color complaint is auto white balance. The updated algorithm works really well outdoors and indoors. But when shooting indoor portraits with flash the white balance is more inconsistent. You’ll want to select a specific white balance in this scenario rather than auto. This might be old hat by now, but I have to say that I'm quite disappointed with the XT-5. After upgrading from my beloved XT-3, I found out that in many ways the XT-5 is actually a downgrade. There are several issues, but I'll focus on the three main ones: The XT5 can focus on a dark dance floor, but I had more in focus shots with the XT4. EDITED RAW.(Photos with this Spektrum effects filter were excluded from autofocus accuracy tests)

I got a charger with both of my Fuji cameras, thats one more than I need as they take the same battery, 50% waste, no way to 'save the planet', you have a means of charging the battery, in camera, just like your phone, you want more? Pay for it. Other features for stills photography (and there are plenty) include the HEIF image format, for 10-bit image quality but 30% smaller files than JPEGs. There's also Smooth Skin Effect, which automatically smooths skin tones, and Auto White Balance based on Deep Learning technology. Most photographers choose Fujifilm because of their color profiles — myself included. The colors are still intact here. My running favorite is still Astia because of the way it renders skin tones and creates a soft look without the awful overexposed tendency of a “light and airy” edit. The colors worked universally well moving from portraits to a colorful dance floor. The latest X-H2 and X-H2S have now taken the pressure from the X-T series to be all things to all people, and allowed the X-T5 to return to its roots as a photo-oriented camera.

Like most Fujifilm cameras, the X-T series was originally devised for photography first, a joint flagship alongside the X-Pro for those who preferred SLR styling over a rangefinder. Just before moving on, here’s a burst taken with the mechanical shutter on the X-T5 while I’m panning, showing how the buildings are upright as you’d expect. Another factor that greatly impacts video quality is a sensor's readout speed. The faster a chip can scan its pixels, the less likely you are to notice the impacts of rolling shutter, a/k/a the 'jello effect.' While not necessarily an issue for static shots, rolling shutter can prove awfully distracting for clips with panning or subject movement.

Swapping to either 6K30 or the high-quality 4K30 mode ups picture quality noticeably, but makes a couple of trade-offs. Angle of view is one, as these modes introduce a 1.23x crop, limiting the view of lenses. And the sensor readout speed is slower, enough where rolling shutter distortion is worrisome. XF 30mm F2.8 R LM WR Macro, f/2.8, 1/110-second, ISO 125, Nostalgic Negative It includes a lot of the capabilities of the more expensive X-H2, such as the 40MP sensor, with a handful of omissions – primarily on the video side of things – that draw a sensible distinction between the two models. There'll undoubtedly be some people who would have preferred an X-H2 with dials, or who'll insist that only video features should have been removed, and that the X-T5 should include the ability to add a battery grip, but to us the differences are enough to create a meaningful distinction between models, allowing the X-T5 to have a lower price tag without treading on its big brother's toes. However, no one would really use these settings anyway if they were photographing a cityscape or a landscape. The reason why you’d use them is for group photos. And as a Fujifilm photographer since the start, this is even more perplexing. RAW files are available in uncompressed, lossless compressed or lossy compressed formats, and you can also choose whether to record standard images in JPEG or HEIF formats. Ultimately if you want a new Fujifilm body with a side-hinged screen, go for the X-H series, or perhaps a future X-S model. Sure it’s frustrating if you wanted the vintage controls too, but in terms of offering multiple body approaches I feel Fujifilm offers a lot more options than most.Let’s start with the interval timer, which automatically captures one to 999 or indeed infinite images until you stop it, at intervals of one second to 24 hours. Instead the X-T5 writes everything to a matched pair of UHS-II SD card slots. Fujifilm says the camera can shoot 6.2K/30 video for 90 minutes or 4K/60p for 60 minutes at 25°C (77°F); these numbers drop significantly at higher temperatures, and there's no option to add a fan to compensate. Sensor readout speeds are a bit faster in the X-T5's 4K/60p and 4K UHD modes but again, the camera is not using all available pixels in either of these, so this more usable speed comes at the cost of detail and noise performance. Video IS The SmallRig charger will only charge a Fuji NP-235 to about 97% (as per the camera display). Presumably because of the lower 7.2 VDC output voltage of the SmallRig charger (vs 8.4 VDC) and the higher capacity of the Fuji battery.
