About this deal

Puma Liberate Nitro Review - Super light offering from Puma that absolutely rips the road for those with the right experience and strength DPT/Footwear Science: A (Midsole and outsole integration really well thought out. Bevel and midfoot done well. But even the outsole has perforations and cuts in it which I think make it slightly more bouncy.) The Pegasus Turbo was a one-of-a-kind lightweight trainer because it was super soft and really versatile. One point of note for those who use running power meters that measures air resistance. The offset lacing is likely to muddle your wind readings. As a result, you’ll likely see lower power numbers compared to shoes with a plain old straight split. Sole and Ride

New Balance FuelCell Rebel v2 Multiple Tester Review

In trying to sort out where exactly these shoes fit in a shoe rotation, I put in plenty of miles doing a variety of run types. In evaluating them so far, the Rebel v2 really shines as a midlength, midpace shoe. They're a great option to wear multiple days in a row. Without trying to tie them down to any specific usable range, they performed well for me between 3 and 10 miles at a casual pace. The midsole foam under the heel is generous, and even after several miles is still noticeably softening heel strikes. DPT/Footwear Science: A (Foam is new, and taking something so soft and making it functional is neat to see with the mechannics of the shoe) The super critical, nitrogen infused FuelCell provides really good energy return and makes it feel like a super foam. It’s not as bouncy as ZoomX but more bouncy than Hyper Burst, DNA Flash and Pwrrun PB. The upper is a significant update. Originally a full knit bootie with integrated tongue and laces that ran through threaded loops. Now it’s an engineered mesh with a padded and structured heel cup. The upper loses the full bootie and goes to a standard split opening with separate tongue. Lacing is offset to the medial side (points towards the big toe).

The FuelCell midsole of the Rebel v2 bears a striking resemblance to the RC Elite’s FuelCell midsole. Both are super soft and are the same “milky” white colour.

Derek: My first impression was “Dammnnnn..!!! They put a Zoom Fly SP upper on an unplated Vaporfly 4%” Just walking around, you know this thing is going to fly off the shelves. It’s not just that it is bouncy, it’s that it is bouncy in a forward propulsive manner . The fit is simple and effective, and true to size for me. The colorway I received looks great, and you immediately recognize that with the materials used for this upper, there is plenty of potential for other great colorways in the pipeline. While our reviewed pair did not face exhibit durability concerns due to the low mileage, there are numerous reports of the upper and rear midsole failing prematurely. Colorway: I really don’t pay too much attention to the colorways on shoes we test. I’m pretty old school. If it runs it runs. Unless it’s a hideous color, then I’ll voice. But this creamsicle colorway is dope! Keep crankin’ out retro colorways, NB! This screams Tampa Bay Buccaneers from Tecmo Bowl on Nintendo. One of the greatest sports games ever created, mind you. Given the unpredictable durability outcome, we think that the New Balance Fuelcell 2 will last anywhere between 100 to 500 miles, with 250 miles being the median. THE UPPER DESIGN AND FIT The characteristic edge flare remains—though slightly muted—and ensures a visual resemblance to its predecessor. Beyond that, however, there are a number of tweaks:

I enjoyed using the Rebel v3 most for easy runs and steady runs. The pace sweet spot for me is between 4:40 minutes per km (7:30 per mile) and 5:30 minutes per km (8:51 per mile). With the Rebel v2, the company is looking to fine tune the recipe from the original by applying what they’ve learned since. The changes are plenty, and the upgrade is nothing short of a success. What’s New With the Rebel v2?

Dynamic Asymmetrical Design

An asymmetric split in the upper combined with offset lacing—reversed compared to what we’ve seen in the Nike Vaporfly Next%— works well. Pressure is evenly distributed across the top of the foot, and there are no noticeable hotspots. If not for its potential durability concerns, the Rebel V2 would have been an excellent everyday trainer.
