About this deal

The penultimate chapter results in a brainless but alive clone of Fran. For some reason, Veronica likes spending a lot of time alone in her room with her... Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism - When it's not being darkly humorous, it's being cynical. See the two Justice chapters, the latter of which convinces the idealistic hero that charity = bad, and forces him to kill a bunch of angry people who were hurt by the first Justice. Motherly Scientist: Well, certainly sees herself as one, as she takes care of her creations and her creator's on a daily basis. The truth is... somewhat more complicated. The Sentinel chapters are an obvious homage/parody of the Showa Kamen Rider series, with the four Sentinels corresponding to v1, v2, v3, and Riderman.

All the Sentinels qualify as well. The first one to be introduced killed a guy who recently had left the prison because he didn't think that two years sentenced in prison was enough for him. Wandering Jew (The man himself appears, his body so far gone that his organs have been replaced by hordes of insects. Fran kindly rebuilds his body while Veronica thinks it's cruel to let him live after he says (well, writes) that he's very tired. They both get their wish when the rebuilt wanderer spies Jesus On The Cross in the Sun, remembers he was a Roman Soldier (he's been as far from visible light as possible to avoid people), rejoices at the sight of the one who can forgive him and instantly liquefies. Petting Zoo People: Okita sort of parodies this. While the usual blend of human and animal elements are in place, the proportions are completely reversed. He has a human head and intelligence, but aside from that he's basically an ordinary cat. Adaptation Decay: Invoked for Vol.4 Extra chapter, the story of the loyal dog in Ch.27 was adopted into a movie In Name Only. Veronica's reaction is what one would expect: "What the hell is this crap!" * Spit Take followed by throwing chair against the silver screen*Love Martyr: Perhaps. After all, she did go from antagonist to doting little sis after a round of experimentation. Cute Monster Girl: Fran, to a certain definition of "cute"- she becomes remarkably less cute when performing surgeries and holding people's parts while those people scream in their heads about how they don't want her to do this to them. During surgery, she is able to increase the number of her arms and operate at a greater speed. Her one oath is to never take life, believing that "regardless of the shape or form, if it can function as a living organism, it is good." The main protagonist of the manga, Fran lives at the Madaraki estate. Though she is often mistaken for Naomitsu Madaraki's daughter, she is actually his greatest "masterpiece." She is fitted with two sizable bolts upon her temples and marred with faint stitches, giving her a distinctly inhuman appearance. She has a unique view of morality, finding certain cases emotionally-moving and experimenting out of the goodness of her heart. Beast Woman: Gavrill. Her body can distort into a giant wolf-like creature with double-rows of teeth.

Nausea Fuel: The copious amounts of gore and body horror can make this manga hard to sit through while eating. Fran herself. Her intentions are unquestionably altruistic, but she doesn't quite get the concept of "extremism"...

Shirou Kazekiri: Vengeance III (Sentinel III)

Franken Fran Frantic follows the events of this final chapter and resumes the episodic nature of its predecessor series. Heel Face Turn: The man in chapter 43 who originally wanted to swindle his niece's fortune. After being forced to share her body, he realizes how awful her life is because everyone around her (including himself and her own mother) resents her and wants the fortune for themselves. In the end, in an unusual variant of Redemption Equals Death, he condemns himself to a Fate Worse Than Death to give her a chance to live free. The Atoner: In chapter 52, the cardinal that is candidate to be the next Pope used to be a mafia lord. After he was mortally wounded in the head and recovered by a surgery, he decided to pay for his sins by devoting the rest of his life to the church. Berserk Button: Inverted. Fran is usually pretty happy to do operations, but when you want do it to impress someone you like, she starts breaking into Tender Tears. It seems like she's really into The Power of Love... One-Woman Army: Not to the extent of her older sister Gavril, but still. She can definitely do a surgery that would usually require an entire crew to perform successfully
