The Elgato Wave 1 also features a proprietary Clipguard anti-distortion technology. This tech is developed with LEWITT Audio and is made specifically for Elgato Wave microphones. The anti-distortion feature works by rerouting sudden peaks through a secondary signal path that runs at a lower volume. The process is automatic and there is no need to constantly monitor or adjust the input levels. The Stream Mix is the output mix that is added to streaming or recording software. This mix will show up as a microphone input in the streaming software. When we received our Wave: 1 microphone, it came in a blue-themed box displaying an image of the mic at the front. Simply turn the knob to the right to increase the volume, vice versa; or push the button to mute the mic. It provides full control over your Youtube video, Twitch stream, and podcast audio. Integrated with LEWITT Audio The Monitor Mix is the output mix that you will listen to via headphones or speakers. You can select to use the Windows Default Output device or manually select the device from the drop-down menu. Wave Link MicrophoneFX was introduced with Wave Link 1.4 as a third mix. This output does not appear as a mix in Wave Link but can be selected as an Input device in apps such as Discord, Microsoft Teams, and more. Another feature of Elgato’s Wave microphones is a switchable low-cut filter that helps remove low-frequency interference. There is also an internal pop filter that reduces distracting plosive breath noise for a clear, professional stream. Of course, if you think the internal pop filter is not enough, you can always add an external pop filter depending on your needs. The Wave mics have an optional pop filter accessory but are sold separately. Technically, the USB isn’t optional, though it provides both data and power between the PC and the Wave: 1. It also means that it can only be utilised with a computer. The reason for this is because the mic doesn’t come with an analogue output/input option.
