About this deal

Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century. The Demon Slayer manga series, also known as Kimetsu no Yaiba in Japanese, is a gripping tale of determination, courage, and family bonds. It has beautiful picture illustrations, a compelling plot, and well-rounded characters. It's a fantastic read for both manga and comic lovers, and even inspired an anime adaptation! In Demon Slayer, we follow our mc Tanjiro, whose family is one day murdered by a demon. The only survivor is his younger sister Nezuko- except she is turning into a demon! Determined to save his sister and avenge his family, Tanjiro begins training to become a demon slayer. And the story goes on from there...

The series is also known for its epic action, with intense fights and well-animated battle scenes. The fights are epic and thrilling, with fast-paced movements and stunning visual effects. The demons themselves are also very creative, with unique designs and surprising abilities. Synopsis: Tanjiro goes to see the Stone Hashira, Himejima, who intends to prepare him for the battles to come. The training to become a Hashira—a high-ranking member of the Demon Slayer Corps—is intense and demanding. Earning Himejima's approval seems impossible, but Tanjiro won't give up! Meanwhile, the demon lord Muzan continues to search for the location of Nezuko and Ubuyashiki.

Synopsis: Despite some comedic misunderstandings that almost blew their cover, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu have smoked out Daki, a Demon that has been devouring the residents of an entertainment district for years. The Hashira Tengen Uzui and his ninja companions engage Daki, but if they cannot handle her, what chance do Tanjiro and his friends have of taking on one of Kibutsuji's Upper-Rank Demons by themselves? It is a good tv-show it is good for kids 11+ 5-star show My Child enjoyed it He's not 11 but he was fine it teaches you never give up hope After watching the first episode of the anime I knew I had to have more of this series and I got super happy seeing there's 26 episodes rather than a mere 13.

This bond is the theme of this series. The author likes exploring bonds between siblings, and duality of conflicting natures. Tanjiro and Nezuko's bond isn't the only one that will be explored in this story. So very shonen indeed. I am not a fan of this series nor its artwork (the artwork is fine........but at the same time it is uninspiring), but the story is fast-paced and effective and there is a bit of a heart-aching twist in the end, so 4.5 stars.

One thing that I didn't get in the anime is the opening thread that Tanjiro sees. I understand what it does, but I didn't get HOW he suddenly got this ability. I didn't realize that it's because he can SMELL the thread! :o :o :o That was cleared up in the manga and really appreciated that because I just sort of thought it "appeared" because "it just does" when Tanjiro uses concentration breathing. I finally gave in to the hype and read Demon Slayer! It’s actually really good!! Gives me InuYasha vibes; this is going to be a classic anime/manga for future generations. So far I really love it. I like that it’s creepy and violent and I adore Tanjiro’s kindness in the face of demons.

Synopsis: After centuries of preparation and training, the Demon Slayer Corps has come face-to-face with their greatest enemy, Muzan Kibutsuji. It is a desperate battle, and several Demon Slayers have already been killed. Tanjiro himself has engaged Muzan. Despite giving it everything he has, Tanjiro gets taken out of the fight! But although he is severely injured and near death, he sees a vision of his ancestor that may hold the key to finally destroying Muzan! Giyu heads north to an area where a band of hunters was killed. He and the Insect Hashira meet Yae, the daughter of a slain hunter, who believes a bear killed her father, but the truth is harder to face. Kyojuro also receives his newest assignment and hopes completing it will prove he's worthy of the title Flame Hashira, which his father abandoned. An explosive battle unfolds as Kyojuro takes on a demon of the Twelve Kizuki who holds a grudge against Kyojuro's father. It’s good, just similar to other manga I’ve read. I found it predictable. It’s charming, for sure. I just wish I had came across this earlier in my otaku career. A good description of this would be “bland but trying not be.” With the movie and the first season now out, reading the manga is the way to go for fans who wanted to know and binge about this world and Tanjirou's journey, yet I may say that the anime is way better. The way they have handled the storyboards is just an eye pleaser. That is just my opinion though. Yet both media (written and animated) are worth it. It is just a matter therefore of personal choice whether or not you want to collect these volumes. I watch it with my 8 year old son. He is absolutely obsessed with it. He’s 8 but we haven’t sheltered him from much at all growing up. He watched Deadpool (over and over) at age 6 with no issues.Trigger warnings for blood & gore depiction, death of a father mentioned, death of a grandmother mentioned, death of a mother & siblings, axe & knife violence. Synopsis: In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. However, his peaceful life is shattered when a Demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a Demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the Demon who ruined his life. Furthermore, why would the unknown demon just go and kill the MC's entire family but barely seem to eat the flesh from any one of them!? Synopsis: The members of the Demon Slayer Corps are sworn to destroy Demons wherever they find them—but the condition of Tanjiro's sister, Nezuko, is a problem. What will the Hashira—the top-ranked fighters of the Demon Slayer Corps—do about Tanjiro protecting his own demonic sister? Meanwhile, Muzan assembles his own minions and intensifies his search for Tanjiro… Synopsis: After their initial confrontation with Kokushibo, the most powerful of Muzan's demons, Tokito is severely wounded and Genya has been cut in half—but is still alive! Can his regenerative power heal even this fatal wound? Then the Hashira Himejima and Sanemi square off against Kokushibo and unleash all the skill they have against him. Himejima is blind, but if he can see into the Transparent World, he might have a chance. Who will survive this whirlwind of flashing blades?
