The Department of Clinical Neuropsychology,provide neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation to assist with cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties which may be impacting on daily living skills, independence, relationships, quality of life, return to work or study or capacity to make decisions. Following referral, patients are seen for a screening appointment to discuss available services, suitable interventions and to give brief advice.

We will provide you with a rewarding volunteering experience supporting the health of your local community. Routine voluntary services across NHS Grampian were suspended in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic. We are now looking to remobilise our voluntary services across the organisation and are seeking volunteers to help support our service across Grampian. Some tests may have to be performed before you are examined, and in a number of clinics you may be asked to provide samples of blood and / or urine. Morningfield was transferred to the National Health Service in 1948, and was then designated as a geriatric hospital. It closed in 1998, the original building is still extant, converted to residential use. The Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) consists of Nursing, Medical, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), Dietetics and Neuropsychology staff. The new administration department, formed out of the former hospital, was also to provide accommodation for nurses:

At Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, from A&E, a patient requiring admission for observation would be transferred to ward 101, and if appropriate, to the Neurosurgery unit, (ward 205). Patients are then discharged from neurosurgery to the NRU, then step down to Craig Court after accessing neuropsychology input within the Neurorehabilitation unit (NRU). Rehabilitation FONTHILL MATERNITY HOME, 60 Fonthill Road, ABERDEENA domestic house was taken over by Aberdeen Corporation in 1945 and opened as a maternity unit in 1946. Latterly it acted as an annexe to the Aberdeen Maternity Home. Still marked as a maternity home on maps of the 1970s, and was still operating in 1990. The building was still extant in 2019, but is no longer in hospital use.

Offer a full social and support programme including group meetings, social outings, exercise classes and speakers evenings. The Neuro-rehabilitation 13-bed Unit at Woodend Hospital provides inpatient assessment and neuro-rehabilitation for adults aged 16-65 (or older if clinically appropriate) who are resident in Grampian. Patients are also occasionally admitted from Orkney and Shetland. The team includes dietician, medical staff, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapy and some (limited) neuropsychology input.
