About this deal

The Criterion disc carries over the DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 remix that David Lynch created in 2014. The Paramount/CBS Blu-ray had a small amount of sync error between the audio and the visuals. I didn't find it bad enough to be distracting, but other viewers were more bothered by it. That has been corrected here.

Postcards from the Cast (SD, 60 min.) – Random interview snippets from twenty members of the cast, some of which pertain to 'Twin Peaks' and many that don't. Among others, Richard Beymer basks in the memory of trying psychedelic drugs, Michael J. It’s unorthodox to be sure, but if you keep an open mind, you won’t soon forget it. I’ve rarely been torn in so many directions by a show, both emotionally and critically. One of the things that sets Lynch apart from other directors is that he does what he wants creatively and he’s not afraid to challenge his audience. He never compromises his vision. I, for one, am thankful for that. CBS and Showtime have delivered that vision to fans in a fantastic Blu-ray set that deserves – like damn fine coffee and cherry pie – to be savored and appreciated. It will also sit happily on your shelf next to The Entire Mystery and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Blu-ray releases, just as it should. Highly recommended!

There are several scenes in which the film takes on a I live in germany and I really don’t like to have titles, booklets, posters and other printer text from the collection to be in other language than the original. Among its many other extras mainly pertaining to the TV series, the Entire Mystery Blu-ray had a half-hour featurette called "Reflections on the Phenomenon of Twin Peaks" that was created for the Fire Walk With Me DVD in 2002. Frankly, it was rather pretentious and annoying. Trailers (SD, 4 min.) – Two crappy-looking and spoilerific trailers for 'Fire Walk With Me' (one 16:9 and one 4:3) that explicitly give away the identity of Laura's killer. that allows the pilot function as a standalone film. Obviously we can only speculate. CBS & Paramount probably had a very specific release in mind and 4K, as of right now, is perhaps not the priority we’d prefer. It’s also worth mentioning that CBS & Paramount may have reservations with the 4K format and it’s inability to eclipse the popularity of DVD & Blu-ray. Samsung no longer produces 4K players and it’s difficult to guess what the home video market will look like in a few years beyond the offer of digital content. I love physical media and I don’t want it to go anywhere.that sneaks into some darker shots. It definitely isn't as much of a revelation as the series' remaster and resurrection -- or a product of the I started watching Twin Peaks for the first time a few weeks ago and have just finished watching Fire Walk With Me. What a fantastic show this was and such a shame it was axed before its time, much like Laura Palmer herself.
