About this deal

Drag and drop the displayed "FlashAirTool.app" onto the required installation folder (for example, "Applications" folder). My goal was to have photos I take with a Fuji X100S camera automatically transfer to the Photo app. (By the way, if your camera uses SD memory storage cards, it should work fine with FlashAir. No need to worry about whether it would work with a Canon or Pentax, etc.)

TIMEOUT. By default the Wifi-part of the FlashAir SSID activates for five minutes when your camera is switched on. You can disable auto-on (least draining to the camera's battery) or adjust auto-timeout to anything from 1 to 30 minutes. Or you can disable auto-timeout entirely. The FlashAir online info/help provided with FlashAir apps is confusing in part because their card is quite versatile, so the instructions don't zero in on what most people would want to do: transfer pictures from their camera to their Photos app on a smart device, Mac or PC. Switch to the FlashAir SSID device name (see below, if you want to adjust the name of the device).
6. Select the FlashAir app on your iPhone Great for traveling light, I just develop Raw files in-camera, send the jpegs to my phone, and then it's on google+, no laptop required. If this sounds familiar, you’re probably thinking of the venerable Eye-Fi line of products, which combine an SD card and a wireless radio, giving your camera instant wireless capabilities. But Eye-Fi and FlashAir work quite differently. With Eye-Fi, your camera connects to an existing wireless network, which it uses to upload photos to the cloud or another PC on the LAN. FlashAir doesn’t require an existing network—in fact, it can’t connect to an existing network. Rather, FlashAir is its own wireless LAN, and you configure your other devices to connect to it.I selected Display Date, Square Thumbnail, Auto reload, Convert RAW to JPEG. Did not select Display RAW thumbnails.

It is essential that I get the folder to show new pictures automatically because I want to import directly into Lightroom in real time. Regarding "Card initialization", a malfunction causing error during card initialization in some devices is modified A malfunction in which the wireless LAN startup image, the default image file in FlashAir, ("DCIM">"100__TSB">"FA000001.JPG") cannot be displayed in some cameras is modified. To save the modified wireless LAN startup image to your FlashAir, you need to execute "Initialize the card" with this version of FlashAir Configuration Software.

My laptop connects successfully with the sd card when it is in the camera and I can view the pictures remotely on the laptop in the folder

Stay Online: What’s more, Internet Pass-Thru Mode allows you to access the web while still connected to the FlashAir SD card. So it’s easy to share your latest shots with friends. We understand how important it is for consumers to share their photo and video memories with family and friends,” said Maciek Brzeski, Vice President, Branded Storage, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “We have eliminated the cumbersome task of uploading pictures via a USB cord so users can effortlessly share and manage their files, leaving more time for what’s important.” But when I take a new picture on the camera, the folder "\\flashair\DavWWWRoot\DCIM\100__TSB" is not automatically updated with the new image, I have to refresh the folder manually. For casual users, this is the going to be the cumbersome deal-breaker of the process. If you’re already connected to one network, having to tell your phone or tablet to disconnect from it and then reconnect to a temporary LAN set up by the FlashAir II, is messy and time-consuming. If your camera happens to get turned off at any time along the way, you must start all over. (Tip: Disable the “auto off” feature on your camera to get things working much more smoothly.)

When card cannot be found go into your mobile device Wi-Fi settings. Refresh or turn off then on Wi-Fi. You should see FlashAir followed by a series of numbers. Select it as the Wi-Fi connection.I have Flash Air II for over year and works great most of the time. I enable my OMD E-M5 manual so that it does not drain my battery but transfer is not great. The FlashAir app offers configuration options through a pop-up menu accessible from the lower-left of the screen. Here is a brief description of these configuration options and how I set them: CELLULAR DATA+WiFi. You can activate Cellular Data+WiFi Mode. This allows you to access the Internet via cellular data. (Recommended; requires a MASTERCODE to be set.) We wanted to make it even easier for our customers to share important life moments instantly with their friends and family,” said Maciek Brzeski, vice president of product marketing and development, Branded Storage Products, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “The FlashAir TM II Wireless SD Card offers easy access, fast performance and exceptional storage space, enabling users to focus more of their time on capturing moments rather than uploading them.” The terms and conditions of Toshiba’s standard limited warranty are available at www.warranty.toshiba.com.
