About this deal

Suzanna is so different from the rest of the Fairley-Hulmes—both emotionally and in terms of her outlook on life. How do you think these differences helped or hindered her relationships within her family? How do they shape her choices regarding the shop? If I have a twist (and I usually do) I always plot it beforehand. I don’t think it’s possible to write free-form toward one. I wanted the reader to think of Athene a certain way—to see her largely through the eyes of everyone else—and then realize that the story they’ve been told might have been something else entirely. So yes, I always knew what I was working toward. If I had to describe to someone what this book is about, I don't know what I would say, I'm still not even sure what it was about. A women's journey of being a bitchy unhappy depressed women to finding happiness? From the #1 New York Times bestselling author, Jojo Moyes, the story of a young woman who finds new meaning in life after opening an eclectic shop and comes to terms with the secrets of her past Sadly this place was a total disappointment. I’ve often walked past and thought how I’d love to pop in. Sadly it was dirty and had a musty smell as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a few weeks. I went at 8.40 am and you’d... expect it to have been cleaned first thing.

When I finished this novel, I didn’t want to review it; I wanted to reread it. . . . An affair to remember.” —The New York Times Book Review So there was a lot of eye-rolling and gritting of teeth but somehow I persevered with the story and made it to the end (which I did not like btw!).Me Before You is one of my all-time favorites. I hesitated reading anything else by her, worrying it wouldn't compare to MBY or would somehow taint that good memory. I think it’s become an undercurrent in my books—female contentment and emancipation through work! Or at least working out what you love to do. I didn’t think Suzanna was the kind of character who would ever be properly satisfied without that—she reminded me of some mothers I was around when writing this who poured their energy into soft furnishings or playgroups but were somehow always restless and dissatisfied. I think it’s such a gift to know what really makes you happy. This book is about the people she meets and the community she connects to in ways she never thought she would. It’s filled with vivid, authentic characters that are my favorite kind — flawed. My name is Julie Filmer and I work from my garden studio in Norfolk, UK. I can't remember a time when I haven't stitched. It's an addiction, together with my obsession for collecting beautiful fabrics, trims and buttons!

I feel like I should get a medal for making it through this. Any other author and I would have given up easily after the first couple chapters. I'm not an easy reader, I'm not one of those people that can finish a book in a day so its really a miracle that I slugged through this and finished it. Family and class are both significant themes in this book—and in some of your other books as well—and we see Suzanna, Douglas, and others chaffing at their tethers. What is it about issues of class that makes it important to you?Moyes' novel Foreign Fruit won the Romantic Novelists' Association (RNA) Romantic Novel of the Year in 2004. Hoover is one of the freshest voices in new-adult fiction, and her latest resonates with true emotion, unforgettable characters and just the right amount of sexual tension. Hay algunos temas clave en los que trabaja Jojo Moyes: el tema de las mentiras y el engaño, los roles que el dinero y el estatus juegan en la compleja red del matrimonio es otro. Jojo’s work never fails to bring a smile to my face with her honesty, humor, and empathy about what it is to be human—[ Still Me is] a must read!”—Emilia Clarke
