About this deal

It's a Talisker 10 with a sweet layer that mutes the peat and pepper a bit. It's much better than I remember the distillery edition from 2015, contrary to that edition the sweetness provided by the Amoroso sherry casks is well integrated now. This one scores a solid 88, the old one 86 points. Vital Stats: 45.8% ABV. Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021. Aged in new American oak and ex-Amoroso sherry casks. So they’re kinda like the Laphroaig Cairdeas 2015, where’s there a well-accepted account of the age that, nonetheless, is NOT on the label. Dalwhinnie double-matured in ex-bodega Oloroso cask wood for a rich sweetness and spicy complexity to enhance the heathery, honeyed aromas and tastes of the fan favorite Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old We may, but are not under any obligation, to release new functionalities and tools or other features for the Service every now and then. The first sip flows gently over the tongue, the "Chili-Catch" known for Talikser suddenly explodes on the tongue and lines the palate with white pepper and cozy warmth. Almost at the same time, the saliva begins to flow massively ... Earthy, slightly peaty with hints of wooden smoke, dark and tart wood tones, dark chocolate with oranges, hazelnuts and walnuts alternate, meanwhile the Talisker DE warms the esophagus and stomach.Nose: Iodine right off the bat, nutmeg and cinnamon, less peat coming through than with Talisker 10 or DE, dried seaweed chips. Cragganmore double-matured in ex-bodega Port cask wood for succulence and rounded depth of flavour to enhance the complex smoky aromas and tastes of the beloved Cragganmore 12 Year Old Talisker is the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye, enjoying a long and very successful history. The flagship release from Talisker is their 10-year-old single malt. Talisker 10 is bottled at an endearingly quirky 45.8% ABV (91.6 proof). The nose is a combination of caramel, petrichor, and a faint smoke like a distant campfire. I agree. The info on the DEs, if anything, is better than a simple age statement (distilled in/bottled in dates giving you both the age and the era/vintage of the product), but most of those who aren’t fussy about age statements aren’t usually holding out for better age info as opposed to simply embracing no age info (and/or confusing it with multivintaging) – producers included.Talisker 11 yo 'The Lustrous Creature of the Depths' (55.1%, OB, Special Releases 2022, Elusive Expressions) - 051022
