I'm craving an ice-cream, sorry Beca, I definitely mean a gelato! I'm rather envious of all the delicious sounding gelatos that were present in this story. Perhaps an unusual spot to find ice cream, but Morgan's Butchers sells a lovely range made by Meadow Cottage, a producer based in Churt who have their own herd of Jersey Cows. Flavours include vanilla, chocolate, coconut, coffee, butter toffee, crème caramel, apricot and mango. World Traveller and World Traveller Plus customers on long-haul flights over the coming months will be offered a complimentary tub of Jude’s ice cream.

Soon Beca comes into her own and its a joy to watch her grow and gain confidence thats she didnt think she had. Griff her childhood friend is also on hand to help and its a joy to see the two reconnect. This is exactly the kind of novel that this author’s readers long for and love. It is perfect for summer reading. The story is well told and involving with interesting characters and a lovely setting. Readers will want to enjoy some (imaginary) gelato while they spend time with Beca and those around her. I had chocolate and biscof flavours and it was delicious. A few seats inside which was useful after a day walking around... the city. Griff, a friend from when Beca was younger helps along the way. Beca is a strong, determined, warm hearted woman, and the book is filled with humour and laughter, but also heartbreaking at times. Scenic descriptions of the coast and sea make you feel you are there, enjoying the fresh air and breeze.There’s something extremely comforting about a soft serve ice cream. We’re not sure if it’s the nostalgia from childhood, the fact that it’s fun to eat, or simply the flavours. And our favourite burger joint in the city serves the softest serve, so don’t miss out while you’re there for delicious burgers anyway. I immediately took to Beca and felt myself willing her to succeed in her bid to recreate some of her grandparents’ ice cream magic. There’s something rather special about finding a perfect recipe and recreating the tastes of years gone by. Of course, this requires trial and error and there’s a process to get it just right. It’s not all about sunshine and gelato though as this book has so much more. I loved the relationships that we see developing throughout the book but none more so than Blake’s story. Your heart just goes out to him as he’s definitely not had it easy so far but you can see this being the big turning point for him with Beca’s help. I really enjoyed everything about this book, and how the relationships between Beca, Griff, Blake and Joe developed. It was such a warm read, full of love, friendships, community, and second chance relationships! The writing made me picture the settling clearly, and has made me very excited for long summer nights and lots of ice cream (or gelato!). The characters were all so likeable in their own way, and I just wanted them to all be happy! Returning home isn't as easy as she thought, however. Her family's beloved ice cream cafe is gone - turned into a soulless wine bar by her hateful ex-boyfriend. Reconnecting with her oldest friend, fisherman Griff, isn't straightforward either. And when, instead of the children she expected to take in, two wary teenage boys appear on her doorstep, Beca fears she's made a terrible mistake.

Slimline design: our ice cream machines are narrow so they can fit into small kitchens and worktop spaces. I highly recommend this beautifully written book. Jo knows how to write a book and this one comes from her heart. Keep an eye on Joe the youngest brother as he has as he has learning disabilities, nonspecific, but he can look after himself anxiety issues but generally he's very content when he knows what happening and is kept to a routin. He likes helping people as he feels like a hero in the making.
