I liked her! But then again... She was the only one actually speaking her mind all the time, so of course I did. đ Maya was leaning against the wall, swallowing down an entire cup of water. âSorry.â She stood to one side when she saw Lucy. âFear makes me thirsty. Iâm pretending this is gin. What are we going to do?â In photos.â Maya put her cup down. âHe did some fitness challenge for charity last summerâtrust me, I would have handed over my credit card happily.â
She didnât want to move. Sheâd been raised here, by her grandmother, who had loved everything about London and had been keen to share its joys and its history with her granddaughter. Lucy managed a weak smile. His enthusiasm and warmth swept you along. You couldnât say no to him, even if you wanted to.
Unconditional love. Love that could be depended on. That was what she missed, but that gift had been ripped away from her, leaving her feeling cold, exposed and alone. I have read other stuff by this author that I quite enjoyed, but this isn't the only one I didn't like either. So, Oh well. Only by reputation. His family own Glen Shortbread.â Her grandmother had described it as comfort in a tin and it had been her favorite treat at Christmas. Now if Iâm going to recommend you one Christmas book this year, itâs going to be this one. The only thing itâs missing is a prologue - I want to know about both Clemmie and Lucy a year down the line. Unputdownable and gorgeous, I adored Snowed in for Christmas. What a warm and wonderful novel for Christmas. It's the ultimate feel-good festive novel' Phillipa Ashley
You can easily visualize everything! Morgan captures the beauty of the setting and the slightly imperfect family Christmas story with love on the horizon! This story gave me all of the feels. The author added so much to this crazy family story. She captured it all perfectly with all of the chaos. Grandma saying whatever she wants. People are on edge trying not to spill secrets. It all sounds so familiar! I have even been the outsider at someoneâs Christmas day celebration, so I get that one⊠Never again! I love you to bits, but your exercise program is couch to kitchen. Is there any chance I can turn you into an exercise fanatic before January so we can increase your credibility? Or give you any credibility at all?â A train set?â Ryan, the intern, grinned. âHe does know that a baby canât play with a train set, doesnât he?â I find it funny that there is not a full synopsis here on Goodreads not that it would make a huge difference since it was kind of faulty advertisement for the book.
The Miller siblings all live in London but are all going home to their remote family home in the highlands of Scotland. They are all carrying a secret that they want to keep firmly to their chest.
Just give us the bad news, Arnie. Have you made a decision about who youâre going to let go?â Maya, always direct, was the one to voice what they were all wondering. Itâs a kind offer and I appreciate it, but no thanks.â She knew Christmas would be rough. She didnât want to inflict her misery on anyone else, and pretending to be fine when you werenât fine became exhausting after a while. Her Christmas gift to herself would be to give herself permission to feel horrible. Look at that. Heâs as handsome as his car. Dark hair. I used to love a man with dark hair, although of course as you grow older your standards change. Now I love a man with any hair. Right.â But if major agencies were going to be pitching to Miller Active in the New Year, they needed to get in front of Ross Miller before that. He was known to be a workaholic. Surely he wasnât going to waste time partying around the Christmas tree? Arnie, who had set up this company over thirty years ago. Arnie, who had left his familyâs Christmas celebrations to be by her side in the hospital when her grandmother had died two years earlier.
If I could describe this book in one sentence, it would be âChristmas gift wrapped in a big festive bow and sprinkled with a dusting of snowâ. Perfect for fans of this genre or anyone just wanting to escape life to the Highlands of Scotland with a family who adore Christmas, have a log fire burning and a jolly Christmas lunch in the planning. We probably all have a family member that we can compare to Nanna Jean, sheâs the perfect âHallmarkâ movie channel nana and her one liners and attitude to life was so funny and refreshing. The Miller family is welcoming of Lucy who soon becomes unable to leave the home. Planning on spending the holiday alone in London, suddenly she becomes part of a family celebration full of tradition. When Lucy and Ross have a chance to talk, they find out they have more in common than their passion for their work. The characters are all highly likeable and the home is fully decorated â everything that Lucy wants in her life. Rossâs grandmother Nanna Jean is a sweet woman full of spunk and along with Hunter the dog, steals the show. Iâm assuming you donât mean that literally.â Maya didnât look convinced. âThe competition are big players. Theyâre motivated.â I didn't manege to finish this book before Christmas. It was really to long. I listened to the audiobook for an hour of 12. For me that is to long for an Christmas read.
It wasnât the main characters that did itâ it was the plethora of other characters, most of whom just drove me crazy. Safety is fine for everyone. No virgins and no OP except for a mention of a girl Fergus dated 5 years ago, that turned out to be nothing.
