Standard RGB LEDs consist of red, green, and blue chips. Different colors are obtained by mixing the light produced by three separate chips in certain proportions. If all three LEDs illuminate at full brightness white color obtained. All of our LED tapes are made from commercial-grade materials which promise the best performance, light-quality and longevity. This is where RGBWW and its ability to change its temperature from cool to warm white comes in, as this is the way we simulate the sun inside buildings, by gradually changing the white colour to replicate the sun’s natural light pattern. This concept is a huge part of HCL (Human Centric Lighting) and is used all over the world in buildings to improve the work environment. As with all Aputure lights, the MC prides itself in its color rendition, with CRI and TLCI scores of 96+, and SSI scores of 84 in tungsten and 74 in daylight. This is all accomplished by an underlying technology that reproduces color better and more accurately than ever before: RGBWW.
Though RGBWW LED strips are able to access to a larger range of colours the best choice is really down to the installation. If the project only requires standard RGB colours with no need for pure warm white, RGB LED Strips are often more cost-effective. However, should the installation require a high-quality warm white then RGBWW is the better choice. Wiring an RGB and RGB + W strip light has a slight difference. If an RGB strip light has four outputs (red, blue, green, and power), an RGB + W has five (red, blue, green, white and power). As for the controls, they both have the same varieties but are prescribed for each type. So, there are RGB remote control and receiver and a specified RGBW remote control and receiver. Some controls have combined both, like an RGB or RGBW wall controller and other smart controlling devices.
The mounting of RGB and RGBW is not different from each other. It is not complicated to mounting and first operating the RGBW systems when used the right controller. However, RGBW can be complicated regarding controlling because it contains extra functions.
To set the default color, brightness and transition values when the light is turned on, create a custom light_profiles.csv, normally located in the default configuration folder where you find configuration.yaml.It is necessary to think about the application if you want to choose between RGB and RGBW. Using RGB is sufficient for colorful decorative lighting or secret light band is required. RGBW will be the right choice for task lighting that requires bright white. With some LED bulbs, it is not possible to enable the RGB leds at the same time as the white leds, or setting String with the name of one of the built-in profiles (relax, energize, concentrate, reading) or one of the custom profiles defined in light_profiles.csv in the current working directory. Light profiles define an xy color, brightness and a transition value (if no transition is desired, set to 0 or leave out the column entirely). If a profile is given, and a brightness is set, then the profile brightness will be overwritten.
