About this deal

Lighting performance Lighting performance with rechargeable CORE rechargeable battery Lighting performance as defined by the ANSI/PLATO FL 1 protocol Headlamps from our ARIA range are specifically designed to meet the needs of professional craftspeople, maintenance workers, and stage riggers. Continuous red lighting to preserve night vision without blinding those around you, and strobe to signal your location, especially in emergency situations The HYBRID CONCEPT design allows ARIA series headlamps to run on either the CORE rechargeable battery or three AAA/LR03 batteries without an adapter. Thank you for an informative reply. I'd also eventually come to the conclusion that the 200 or RGB was not part of the real name, something which is a bit daft for a retailer to do if people are looking for a specific torch as you think its something else. I'd also previously read the article you mention. It was quite old but it was the sort of thing I was after for the current torches.

If you get caught out in a shower, the Tactikka is rated IPX4, therefore it'll resist light to medium showers of rain before anything begins to pass through. It's water and weather resistant, basically. The Tactikka® has red, green or blue helping preserve your night vision, multiple lighting options with proximity lighting or focused lighting help sort your needs. For what it's worth, I really rate the MYO range from petzl for general mountaineering and have the old TIKKA RXP (superceded by the reactik range) that I use for running and increasingly as my primary torch. Both would be good replacements for your tikka, though the reactiks are lithium ion batteries (optional crossover kit for AAA, or spare Li-ion batteries available). Personally, I've never had a problem with using them for weekend missions, or longer trips where I'm not expecting to use them for long durations each day. Our options for strategic lighting ranged from cheap “C” cell flashlights that always seemed to get water inside, guaranteeing their death by corrosion, or those six-volt “lanterns” that were about as big as a coffee can and came in all of the primary colors. It seems like I got a red one for several of my birthdays.WARNING: This lamp is not certified for road use: when used in areas subject to traffic regulations, Petzl lights are no substitute for required standardized lights. ThePetzlTactikkahead torch has had a bit of a revamp! It’s now brighter than the previous model and weighs 4g less! It has been designed withstealth in mind; it is perfect for tactical activities, fishing, hunting and nature watching. This versatile and reliable headlampoffers a selection of beams to choose from all with their own intended use. The simple and uncomplicated design makes it very easy to operate. I wasn't after advice on which head torch I should get. Essentially I was looking for a place to to compare the technical differences between the ones I already have, which I now realise are mainly Tikka+, and the ones I can currently buy so that I could buy something very similar or maybe a little bit better. Probably a bit late to the party but I also lost the will to live with Petzl. Not least because (at the time?) they were advertising the new range which wasn't even available to buy. Three white lighting levels: MAX BURN TIME, STANDARD (better power/burn time balance) and MAX POWER

The Petzl Tikkina is a HYBRID headlamp, meaning it comes with three standard batteries and is also compatible with the Petzl CORE rechargeable battery. Okay, two complaints. I’ve not had a problem yet, but I wish it was truly waterproof instead of just water-resistant. Final Word Reduced environmental impact: the entire lifespan of a CORE rechargeable battery is equivalent to that of 900 standard batteries The Tac versions might also get a red filter/light for better night time work for map reading etc..

Choose from proximity, movement or distance light settings with the bright white light, or preserve your night vision with the red light setting. Compatible with the HELMET ADAPT and BIKE ADAPT 2 mounts, so you can attach the lamp to a variety of helmet types or a bicycle (1) HYBRID CONCEPT design: TACTIKKA + comes with three standard batteries and is also compatible with the CORE rechargeable battery Why the TACTIKKA+RGB? Well, it’s lightweight (less than three ounces), it’s weather-resistant, and it comes with the rechargeable CORE system so I can save some coin on batteries, though, I can pop in three AAAs if I’m far from an outlet. It’s plenty bright with three levels of illumination for white light maxing out at 350 lumens, which is more than I ever needed for my travels in the dark for hunting season. I don’t think I ever moved beyond the dimmest setting. In a pinch, I also used that dimmest white light setting as I would a lantern by suspending it from a rope overhead. It worked brilliantly.

The PETZL TACTIKKA+RGB is the hunter/angler headlamp and it has become an integral piece of equipment for my outdoor pursuits. This torch featuresPetzl'sStandard Lighting Technology. This basically means the batteries directly power the light source with the maximum light output when the batteries are fresh and then power slowly decreases over the lifetime of the batteries. There are three lighting modes, proximity, movement and distance that are easily interchangeable - just press the single button in the middle of the headlamp to change the brightness of the beam.Lighter, brighter and incredibly versatile - The Tactikka is the perfect headtorch for activities where stealth is priority. It'll pump out 300 lumens of constant light and features a red light to preserve night vision. If you say what you are after, people would help you? Do you want a rechargeable battery, reactive lighting, Bluetooth connectivity so you can InstaBook your adventures? Automatically switches to reserve mode when batteries are almost drained (signaled by blinking light)

But the main reason the TACTIKKA+RGB accompanied me on hunts and will ride my head on predawn hikes to the creek this summer is the RGB. The letters stand for red, green, and blue lights. Each colored beam is a tool. All three save my night vision, but red and green also provide a stealthy approach to treestands, blinds, and creek banks while the blue light makes map lines and writing easier to read in the dark when I’m not sure about where I am. There’s also a strobe option for when I absolutely don’t where I am. I have a Pixa 3...mind you I used to (when I ran my own shop) sell most of the Petzl range including all the Tac versions....HYBRID CONCEPT design: TIKKA® CORE comes with the CORE rechargeable battery and also works with three AAA/LR03 batteries (not included); it automatically detects the energy source and adjusts lighting performance The "Tac" bit is short for Tactical and is aimed at the military, hunters, fishermen, those guys who seems to only war military issue/faux military issue kit despite looking like the military isn't something they are actual familiar with. The TACTIKKA+RGB has a 160 hour burn time for lowest-level (6 lumens) white light, 60 hours for the colored lights, and 2 hours for maximum brightness. And the strobe is visible at 700 meters for 400 hours. Surely they could find me before the batteries konk out.
