About this deal

This battery-operated option enables you to get wobble-free images of far-reaching views by just pressing a button on the binoculars – and the stabilizing effect is both instant and jaw-dropping. These binoculars feature an ergonomic design that makes them comfortable to hold and easy to grip. The chassis is made out of a durable material that has been reinforced with polycarbonate. The chassis is also coated with a rubberized material that promotes user comfort, improves grip, and provides protection should you accidentally drop the binoculars. With a smaller objective diameter, you won’t have too much weight weighing you down especially if you’re carrying hunting gear. But if you don’t mind the additional weight, a 42mm is the most preferred. Not only does it offer higher magnification, but it also boasts a wider field of view (FOV). Prostaff 3s wider field of view offers an advantage in that it helps you spot things more easily without moving your optics equipment too much.

All PROSTAFF 7S binoculars feature a nitrogen-gas-filled waterproof body so that they can be used for a variety of activities, such as a safari in Africa, wildlife watching, Cruise watching, and other outdoor activities, without being affected by the weather. All of Canon’s current range of binos have the ‘IS’ suffix in their model name to denote the fact they’re image-stabilized binoculars. This battery-operated option enables you to get a wobble-free image by just pressing a button on the binoculars – and the stabilizing effect is both instant and jaw-dropping. The Prostaff 7, as Bob mentioned is the one I would look at getting, the PS3, and PS5, are lesser models. It achieves this via Nikon’s Field Flattener Lens System, which in tandem with the Monarch HG’s 30mm wide field of view helps maintain sharpness right to the lens’ periphery. Also impressing is its water and fog-proofed build, while focusing is achieved via a large centrally located wheel, which makes operation unbelievably smooth, particularly when panning with subjects. This Nikon’s sharpness can be fine tuned for spectacle wearers too, via a dioptric adjustment ring on the right eyepiece. There is a facility of No-Fault Repair/Replacement Policy for all Nikon binoculars whether it is the Prostaff 3s series or the 7s series. Image Quality

The ability to get a close focus on nearby objects as well as a reasonably wide field of view makes the Celestron Nature DX ED 12x50 binoculars useful for a wide range of outdoor uses. Typically designed to be used handheld, some 10x42 binoculars include a tripod thread for additional support should we get weary holding them for extended periods, or simply want added support to achieve the clearest, steadiest view possible. Although fairly rare, some 10x42 binos additionally feature a built-in battery-operated image stabilizer that can be activated or left switched off as desired. Typically switching this on transforms a slightly shaky handheld view into one that’s as smooth and steady. The caveat is that this brilliant feature often adds to the bulk, weight and price of the binoculars, and might not be needed by most users. While specialist and niche Nikon binoculars are available, including its Marine series, the wider use binoculars we’re looking at here can be divided into three families: Aculon, Monarch and Prostaff. Nikon introduced the Prostaff 7s series binoculars in 2014 with improvements in the 7 series already introduced in 2011.One thing we like about Nikon is that they provide numerous accessories alongside their binoculars. With Prostaff 7s and 3s binoculars, you’ll get 1 strap, 2 objective lens caps, a soft case, and an eyepiece cap.

The decent-sized 42mm objective lenses on offer here gather a lot of light, making these binoculars suitable for use in dim conditions as well as in regular daylight. A large smooth-feel focus wheel aids operation and a long 18mm eye relief delivers viewing comfort. Capable of being tripod mounted if desired, a strap, lens cloth and carry case come as standard, plus a limited lifetime warranty. Nikon’s line of birding binoculars typically features a durable design and comes loaded with all the right features, including top of the line optics, versatility, and waterproof and fog-proof lenses. So, it comes as no surprise that their latest pair to hit the market are up to standard and measure up to many popular birding binoculars that were produced by this manufacturer in the past. Overall, Image quality is crisp and well defined in the Prostaff 7s series than the Prostaff 3s series. Compact and lightweight 42mm-objective lens diameter model for superior portability (565g for 8x42, 575g for 10x42)Once again, construction of this Nikon binocular includes a central folding mechanism that allows us to adjust the set up to comfortably match the distance between our own eyes. While, for us, performance isn’t quite up there with Nikon’s own premium Monarch HG alternatives in terms of clarity and sharpness, and we did notice the odd instance of purple fringing in contrast-y situations, if we’re looking for a good quality, general purpose pair then results are more than good enough. In summary, what we’re getting here is a very good performance at a very fair asking price. The reasonably large objective lens ensures good light transmission, and the ridged focus control wheel is satisfying and intuitive to use. With rubber grips for a secure hold, the Bushnell Powerview 2 is an all-around well-designed set of binoculars, at a pretty reasonable price. What are the best binoculars? I originally had my eye on the Nikon Action Extremes 10x50. Unfortunately no store carries them for me to test them and I have concerns about the weight at 2.5 lbs. Nikon has been around since 1917. It was founded after the merger of three optical manufacturers, aiming to create a fully integrated optical company. As they say, the rest is history.
