About this deal

And, when observing faint objects, there’s one actual benefit to a bit of "shimmer" or "dance": Your eye and brain will work harder to build up a mental picture. You’ll actually see more small details if you “ping” the telescope by tapping your eyepiece, or the optical tube, gently. Try it! Ian, one other thought. If you do offer your review of the 130 SLT for CN here, maybe you can add a paragraph or two describing the differences (& similarities) in what you found vs. what David Knisely found in his review of the 130GT. That would give propsective buyers a clear sense of which to go for (the 130GT is being sold by Orion as the Celestron 130 Star Seeker). I just thought I'd drop a word about the 130SLT "vibration" problem...which to me, the more experienced and familiar you become with the scope, even at higher powers, the less of a problem is it. With the 130SLT I never found it to be an annoying problem even in the beginning, but then, I ALWAYS mount on grass which eliminates much of the problem.

The telescope is compatible with 2 eyepieces, and the eyepiece holder fits both 1.25-inch and 2-inch eyepieces.Full Frame Cameras Canon EOS-R Full Frame Cameras Nikon Z Full Frame Cameras Full Frame L Mount Cameras Sony Full Frame Cameras Canon EOS DSLR Full Frame Cameras Nikon DSLR Full Frame Cameras Vlogging Cameras To get that number, you multiply the size of the aperture by two(130×2=260). If you go over that, the image will be blurry, and you won’t be able to focus on the image.

It’s evident that each telescope comes with a few similarities, but to find out which Celestron model is best for you, it’s a good idea to base this on their differences. All in all, I’ve had a lot of pleasure using the SLT 130 and I would consider it a good scope for the beginner or someone who may not be ready for the cost of a better setup. Chris - your mags will be x26 and x33 - not very much for planetary work. (You normally get something like a 10 and a 25, I think. A 10mm would give you x65 - still not much for a short focal length 'scope.) Mars will look very, very small at those mags - you need longer focal length eyepieces. Jupiter will look a little better/bigger with what you have. As I’ve previously mentioned, the telescope suits deep sky objects viewing more than planetary observations. So, you’ll see crispier images when viewing faint objects, like fainter Messier objects than Saturn, for example.
