About this deal

I posed all these problems to Neatfi’s friends, who proposed me to try their Neatfi XL: a professional desk lamp with 2200 lumens and 117 LEDs arranged on a 22,83inches lamp. Recommended lights for painting accurately have a color temperaturethat falls within the daylight range (5000 – 6500K or Kelvin) and provides sufficient diffuse illumination to prevent eye strain, e.g., squinting, and hard-shadowing. Easy. The lamp comes in two parts. The first part is the clamping mechanism, which uses a screw-in clamp for the side of a tabletop or desk. The second part is the lamp assembly. The swing arm has springs in it to keep the lamp’s position. There is a pivot insert that goes into the clamp (after it has been attached to your desk). While the pros might have used this 5 years ago, I can tell you that they are likely all changing it out. Never desk lamps are on the market and we now have the R9 that is tailor made for painting miniatures.

The Neatfi XL 2,200 Lumens LED task lamp is the perfection addition for your hobby space, and I highly-recommend it for any miniature painter, scale modeler, artist, and hobbyist. Read on below to learn more about this must-have lamp! Oh, by the way, it’s definitely affordable when you compare it against other dedicated artist lamps on the market. Light is powerful for improving mood, motivation, and focus. The LED housing swivels on a multi position head joint that is sturdy and won’t move around, even when you’re pressing the power button to turn the light on or off; or simply to change the brightness level. The lamp features an incredible amount of small LED lamps that blast light from above down on your painting station. It has two LED bars that can rotate, so you can shine light on the exact thing you want. The lamp is also made in a way where the light does not “bleed” out from the lamp, so it mainly shines the light on the thing you want. This lamp comes with a stylish clamp that doesn't leave a mark on your furniture, making it a great fit for a wide range of desk types. You'll get 2,200 lumens cast across a wide area for plenty of light while you're working. You can adjust the brightness level to four different settings to fit your needs throughout the day.

While I find the R9 amazing and the best miniature painting desk lamp, it might not be for everyone. If you are looking for something even more affordable than our budget option way more mobile, the Uberlight Flex might be the one for you. You’ll find that although architect lamps are simple in design, you have a wide range of options in how they look. You can find some with solid finishes and others in brass or silver. You should be able to find the lamp that matches the room in which it will be used. The best light for painting miniatures will be light in the color range of about 5000. This produces a good natural white light that will reflect how the miniature will look in normal daylight. A CRI of 80 is normal, but not really that great. You need to get up in the 95+ range for this to be fun. 2. The light needs to decrease the amount of shadow on your miniature As useful as it may be to be able to adjust your lamp, if it continues to move around after you’ve positioned it, it will become a huge distraction. Your lamp should have the flexibility to be movable while also holding its position once you’ve put it in place.

Neatfi (New Model XL 2,500 Lumens LED Task Lamp with Clamp

The adjustable nature of architect lamps makes them popular for a wide range of household uses. You can clamp an architect lamp onto any type of surface with an edge, then direct the light where you need it to go. If you have a sewing room or craft table, for instance, you may like the fact that you can move the light around as necessary. While I won’t say that the lamp has a long arm, the reach of the metal swing arm is long enough to cast useful light across your entire desk. The best part about this lamp, in my opinion, is that it is so simple to use and have around when you need it. Will the lamp last me a long time? Value? Let us look a bit at what a good lamp for painting minis actually needs to do. 1. The colour of the white light needs to show the actual colours of the model (it should throw a white light in the Kelvin 5000 range with good CRI) I have one of those lamps with built in magnkfication, but the light itself is warm with is less than ideal. Reply The width of the lamp is useful for providing useful, high contrast on your working surface. Contrast often suffers when a light is too bright and focused in one spot. The diffuse nature of the Neatfi light source helps maintain contrast. At one time, architects spent hours at a drafting table, drawing up blueprints on projects. Technology moved that work to computer software, but the usefulness of architect lamps ensured they remained relevant. Today, architect lamps can be found on desks and other workspaces, providing easy-to-control lighting for a variety of functions. There are also other similar lamps, e.g., the Model Craft Professional Task Lamp, the Lighcraft Pro LED lamp, which all review just as highly and have the same features, power output, and color as the Neatfi XL task lamp. The Neatfi Task Lamp lights up my entire hobby space in a bright, diffuse white light. It’s quite useful! I like the white, because of how clean it looks. The swing arm has a smooth operation and the plastic LED housing feels light but solid. This is a sturdy product. If there was any concern, it might be the springs, which tend to get squeaky over time. The kelvin goes from 5600-6500 (okay for hitting natural light), which is a bit boring as you cannot get into the yellows to help eye strain. The coverage of the light is on par with the R9, but you do not get the flexible arms to direct the light and minimize shadows. In recent years, architect lamps have joined other light sources in prioritizing energy efficiency. This is closely linked to the type of lightbulbs they use, and LED tends to be the most popular. Look for the number of burn hours a lightbulb promises, as well as its eco-friendliness.
