I’m incredibly proud of the person you’ve become and will always appreciate the generosity and love you’ve shown me. Son, you will be faced with the temptation to do lots of things because all the other boys are doing it. It may be the temptation to smoke or make fun of the new kid, treat a girl like an object, or cheat on a test. None of these things are worth it in the end. Not only will you disappoint me by choosing the wrong thing, but you will also ultimately disappoint yourself, and that is a far worse feeling. I’m not suggesting you stop playing video games. Instead, I hope you find a proper balance to find time for your studies, hobbies, and fun. As you turn 23 today, we can’t help but reminisce about the day you were born. For us, you will always be our little angel who can warm any heart with your smile and laughter.

I believe the best gift we could ever give you in life is a sibling because you instantly have a best friend. Your time with your sibling will outlast your time with us as parents. You guys will know each other better than any other friend and siblings will always be the truest form of love and because they will always be apart of you. As we welcome your new baby brother to our family we can already tell you are going to be the best big brother. Sure, you guys will fight and feel like you hate each other at times but you’ll also experience some of your best memories together and will always love each other. Be sure to protect your brother, help guide him in the right direction, and make time for him. He will do the same for you. It’s so easy to get caught up in life but remember to make family a top priority. Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places.Your friends and acquaintances greatly impact how you think, act, and view life. Remember that good friends will be there for you, respect your individuality, and motivate you to achieve your goals. Your selection in the national junior football team came as no surprise to us. You worked hard, and you fully deserved it. Grab this opportunity with both hands and show the world what you are made of. First, I wrote about what happened when I asked the parents to write a letter to their kids. Don’t overestimate your opinions. The human brain is a complex engine that frequently lies straight to our senses. And all too often, what we think we know for certain is frequently wrong. To put it another way: nobody is as wonderful and good as they think, including you. So don’t let an inflated ego trip you up. Do not worry about the length: The length of the letter doesn’t matter. Even a simple notification that you sneak into his lunchbox could mean a lot to him. Firstly, congratulation on your engagement, and more importantly, for finding a strong and independent woman to be your life partner. Your mom and I couldn’t have asked for a better woman to be our daughter-in-law. Cherish every moment leading up to the wedding day as this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Plan the wedding meticulously and let us know if we could be of any help.Before you were born, I had only completed 1 semester worth of classes. It wasn’t until you came along that I was motivated to follow this path, to lead us both to a better future. For 2.5 years, I worked full-time and attended classes full-time. A little over a year ago, I was blessed with a full ride scholarship which allowed me to step down from my management position and work part-time while still attending campus full-time. This opened up my path for new opportunities. I have since then been able to gain experience that I otherwise would not have had. It also allowed me more time to spend with you and was able to enroll you in several activities. Putting a smile on your face and ensuring you are healthy has always been my #1 priority. Last week, I wrote about how the kids confused being proud– recognizing and sharing your strengths and achievements – with bragging – being arrogant and full of yourself, and how 12 hours and a letter helped me take them to a different place.
