About this deal

Since the Roomba i7+ probably cleans the home several times a week, dirt can hardly accumulate in the corners. The iRobot Roomba i7+ is an impressive choice from iRobot’s line of robot vacuums. Roomba was already enough for us to leave sweeping and vacuuming ourselves in the dust, but now it’s practically irresistible.

You have to decide for yourself whether the luxury of the self-emptying base is worth the higher price. We hope our iRobot Roomba i7+ review helps. However, the iRobot Roomba i7 obviously can’t achieve a perfect result in corners because of its round shape. The device has an excellent finish and looks very classy. The materials used seem to be of very high-quality.You can still have a conversation in the same room - while the robot vacuum is doing its work - but it’s not that pleasant. The same applies to watching TV in the same room.

The battery is designed to last for 120 minutes of cleaning. In my tests, I had enough power to clean my entire downstairs and set off a second run. The delivery scope doesn’t just include the iRobot Roomba i7+ Robot Vacuum and the relatively large and very cool clean base. iRobot also added several accessories. However, it’s quite expensive: with the Clean Base, the RRP is similar to that of the Dyson 360 Heurist, which proved to be more powerful in tests. You’ll have to decide if the convenience of automatic emptying is worth the money, compared to a robot that cleans deeper. The robotic vacuum cleaner hardly reached its limits with the lentils ( short carpet: 94%, long carpet 98%). I couldn’t find any power settings for the robot; it just cleaned at the default power setting. The only option to boost cleaning is to change the mode from Automatic to Dual-pass, letting the iRobot Roomba i7+ cover each part of your home in two sweeps. In Automatic mode, the robot will do two sweeps for smaller rooms and one sweep of a larger area. The mapping system can strangely remember only up to 10 floor plans at a time, which you can name either with set names or custom names. We imagine this is both because iRobot isn’t charging users to store their floor plans in its cloud servers and that its servers only have so much space for everyone’s Roomba i7+ maps. If the robot vacuum doesn’t have structured navigation and leaves out areas, the cleaning result won’t be satisfying. Oh yes - don't forget to open all the doors. Now the robotic vacuum cleaner can reach every spot in your home. The dust container has a capacity of 460 ml. You can easily open and empty it at the touch of a button. The percentages may seem relatively low at first, but the result is excellent compared to other top models.

But the Roomba i7 came out with flying colours and removed a whopping 94% of the sand on the laminate. With 3300 mAh, a somewhat smaller lithium-ion battery and thus shorter battery life (approx. 75 minutes) The " Plus" in the Roomba i7+ stands for the self-emptying dust bin ("Clean Base") that comes with it.Type A robot vacuum cleaner only, there are no mopping features here. Its Clean Base means you don’t have to manually empty the bin You also don't have to learn a sentence by heart and recite it the same way over and over again. The voice control is very sophisticated, and your Roomba i7 Plus understands variations of voice commands. Moving on to the hard floor test, I sprinkled an ‘X’ on the floor in the middle of the room and let the cleaner pass over it. Here, the results were much better, with practically all of the flour removed. An excellent app that offers fully customisable maps and quality navigation make this a quality robot cleaner, but suction power isn’t as good as rival models. Design and Features

Our Tip: If you don't have any allergies, you can save some money and vacuum the dust bag in the self-emptying base with a conventional vacuum.

Each bag can hold 30 bin-fulls of dirt, so you’re looking at replacing a bag every couple of months or so, depending on how often you use your robot. While the Clean Base doesn’t take up any more floor space than a regular charger, it’s significantly higher and won’t fit under furniture, so you need to place it somewhere out in the open. It doesn’t provide the deepest clean, then, but the iRobot Roomba i7+ is still a good robot cleaner. It will deal with standard mess around your home, particularly if used regularly, requiring you to use a manual vacuum cleaner less often. You should tap out the HEPA filter once a week over a dustbin or sink. We also recommend replacing the HEPA filter after approx. 4 - 6 months.
