When Shen is not writing, she can be found reading her favorite books or watching TV on Netflix and HBO with a glass of wine or even catching the rays of the sun with her cat. Author Shen was born and brought up in San Francisco, California. Before settling down, she traveled to different locations across the globe and made numerous friends. Those who know her well jokingly say that she is not a good companion, forgets birthdays of people very often, and never sends cards to her friends on Christmas. Shen likes to describe herself as the kind of person who cherishes life’s simple things, such as enjoying the company of her family and relaxing with them in her free time. She has the habit of reading 3 to 5 books every week, which has greatly helped in shaping her writing career. Shen considers her son to be the most important thing in life. She cannot let him out of sight even for one moment. Needless to say, Rosie had to make do without her medicine that week and my parents were paid not a minute earlier than when they were scheduled to. Told from dual POV it details their adolescent years from first kiss to high school and beyond and give glimpses of the cast of Sinners of Saint and their kids. Love, hate, lust, secrets, insecurities, rivalry, lies and ultimately self-reflection and truth signify their road to adulthood and surrender to love. This book is the first in Shen’s newest series, All Saints High. I’ve been eagerly awaiting these books ever since I realized that these were the kids of the original HotHoles in her Sinners of Saint series, which I loved. This book is about Daria Followhill, the daughter of Jaime and Melody (the couple from Defy).Things between them are so intense. Just as things start to heat up and get really good, someone else comes into the picture and everything changes. I was so stressed out while reading this book. SO stressed. The characters, sometimes I loved them and sometimes I hated them, but I felt for them. I ended up loving both Penn and Daria by the end. One of the only things I didn’t love about it was the Principal story line. I didn’t feel like it was necessary to the story and I didn’t like it. Other than that, I really enjoyed this one! But even the most rich and Privileged kids aren’t happy deep inside and LJ Shen really dives into that with her leading female. Daria is different, she’s not your typical rich kid, she suffering deep inside with insecurities that take over her. She’s real and fake mixed together and those struggles she endures and survives are one of the many things that’ll have you loving this beautiful girl. Until his mother passes away on his birthday and his stepfather throws him out. Daria’s parents take him in and Penn swears revenge on Daria. Daria is sort of misunderstood, in that she is often a victim, but when cornered, instead of trying to explain herself or tell people what is going on with her, she lashes out viscously. She ends up hurting people and then feels tremendous guilt for her actions. He forces her to break up with his friend and then threatens her by telling her that either she leaves town and his friends or he will fire her family and leave them homeless. Without hesitation, she leaves after her graduation. And never learns anything about him until ten years later when he enters the restaurant where she works.In the distance, I heard music blasting from his room, getting louder by the second as he turned the volume up to the max. It took me a few beats to recognize the song. “Stop Crying Your Eyes Out” by Oasis. Welcome to your new addiction, angst addicts. Because this new series? It's about to reach into your very soul and tear out all of the feels! Georgia, who was fiddling with his zipper, her white sheath dress already unzipped from behind, growled, pushing away from his chest momentarily and rolling her eyes. honestly i can't put into words have convoluted and stupid the plot was. and i didn't love either main character. i'll be trying to read the subsequent books in the series, especially Vaughn's but so far. not impressed. do not recommend.

Sometimes it’s so nostalgic to read a high school love story. It reminds me of my crush on Jordan Catalano and the first time he kissed me in his car when he gave me a ride home from school. Oops, that wasn’t me, that was Angela Chase... But I was still crushing on Jordan right along with her.

horrid mother daughter relationship hinging on the female main character not getting paid attention to OMG !! I loved the story so much. It is intense, emotional and the anguish could be felt in spades, that sensation that shakes your body, that clouds your sight and suffocates you until you feel breathless. He still hates her, and even though she hates him too, they can't deny the sexual tension they have had since they first met. Several things happen and they end up sleeping together. She finally gets to learn the real reason why he needed her, and it is nothing more than to avenge his mother's death or better-said murderer?What’s your name?” he demanded. He smelled delicious—a masculine spice of boy-man, sweet sweat, sour hormones, and the faint trace of clean laundry, one of my mama’s many chores. Overall, this is a phenomenal first book in this highly anticipated series! It made me happy, sad, angry, and every emotion in between. Leigh's writing is fantastic! She makes me live her stories. Instead of watching the characters go through motions, I become them. It's just one of the reasons, she is one of my favorite authors. I could go on and on about her brilliance, but I'll spare you the love letter. Lol
