About this deal

You guys remember the AmmoPal, right? I talked about it a long time ago. It’s like a Pez dispenser for 12 gauge shotgun shells. My well-loved AmmoPal It’s a big box magazine that doesn’t go in your gun. Instead, it attaches to your belt of gear and feeds your shells as you need them. With my All Missions Plate Carrier and its unique Hexgrid system, I mounted the AmmoPal horizontally under my offside arm. Currently working on some long term testing of shotgun cards on my Rumble Channel CAVCOP, and Brown Coat shotgun cards are in the top 2 right now out over over half a dozen cards I have tried. They might be #1 time will tell. The 5.11 All Missions Plate Carrier, or AMP, is a very comfortable vest, and when fully geared up, the plate carrier can tote quite a bit of gear. It deserves a full review, and hopefully, we’ll get to that soon. 2. 5.11 5 Shot Bandoliers

If you’re thinking this over right now, you’re probably not alone. Suddenly, depending on the function of the shotgun, we could have a “situation.” This technology we use to assemble our list depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the following: Actually, a double-gun isn’t a bad home-defense choice, and some are made expressly for this purpose. But, of course, even a basic pump or autoloader can double its capacity. For more, beyond a magazine extension, it’s the side-saddle option.Three fast reloading options: The shell caddy (center) is a competition rig. The others provide greater utility. Note the contents of the Safariland #080-12 clip-on gadget. Despite its open-top design, the shells are surprisingly secure. These systems are sold to fit the receivers of popular repeating shotguns such as Remington Model 870s and Mossberg 500 pumps. Offered in various capacities, they locate reloads at the shooter’s fingertips, while consolidating shells into a useful grab & go firearm. The Remington Sidemount is available in 4-, 6-, and 8-round capacities and uses steel-on-steel, threaded adapters that replace the trigger group pins to anchor the shell holder securely to the receiver. The Remington Picatinny is a 6-round model that features an integral Picatinny rail for mounting sights, optics, or other accessories. Later, I wound up shepherding an active LE shotgun program for a period long enough to encompass pretty much everything from bead-barreled police pumps through twin-magazine bullpups. Along the way my thinking changed as well. foam builtin padding. It slightly raises cheek weld and keeps your gear safe and dry and you stay comfortable for hours behind the scope through any bad weather.

The above choices are really just the tip of the iceberg. I’m betting others into shotguns have different lists of favorites that work well. But, since it was impossible to try them all, I went with those that worked well for me during hands-on use. For starters, like revolvers and traditional lever-action rifles, tube-fed shotguns are self-contained designs. No worries about lost mags (as well as their contents). Leather include beautiful original markings form the cow’s life, such as scarring, welts, brand marks and more. Your item may not look exactly as shown here.

All necessary installation hardware, tools, and instructions are included with the holders. The Remington Sidemount requires a shortened, tactical-style forend to accommodate 6- and 8-round sidemount units. The Remington 1100/11-87 require minor forend alterations to fit the 8-round model. The Benelli Picatinny requires drilling/tapping the receiver to fit M1. makes extremely strong and durable bandoliers that hold 5 rounds, and there is a more significant 12 round option out there as well. These bandoliers are quite robust, and they can be used over and over and over. 5.11 Shotgun holder

Effective range, depending on the gun and load, will max out at around 35–40 yards. More range (and punch) will require a switch to a slug. A common 12 gauge rifled-slug shell contains a one-ounce, .73-caliber lead bullet. To reduce the absorption of moisture into the leather, use universal waterproofing (water repellent) sprays (the same as for shoes). Process leather, suede, lacing and ammo loops (inner side of them too). Do this before each use. Such sprays protect products from dirt as well. Mounts with included hook and loop,M6-screws or adapter (adapter not included in assemblies size 20, 28 or 32). Two presumed negatives of the shotgun is limited range and capacity. Both are true to some extent, although slugs will arguably cover distances justifiable from a legal perspective. As for capacity, there was a time halfway around the globe when I would’ve given my teeth for a detachable-magazine pump gun.

About us

I got the 8 shell holder and is the perfect size for the 590 receiver. The adhesive is very aggressive and after holding it down for 30 seconds It was like cement. Very impressed woth the quality of materials as well. These little 5 Shot Bandoliers are made by everybody, but I’ve found 5.11’s to be robust. The key to these device’s success is the elastic bands. If they loosen too fast, they start to fail. They can also fray and rip. The King Competition MSH generation 6 is a high performance modular shotgun shell holder system, designed and manufactured by World Champions.

Rugged and lightweight aluminum shell holders from Mesa Tactical Products allow for fast tactical reloads by putting extra 12 gauge shotshells on the left side of the receiver. The unique internal Santoprene™ elastomer rib securely retains even heavy slug shells during vigorous movement or heavy recoil. Available in sidemount or Picatinny rail configurations, the holders come in various capacities to fit Remington, Mossberg, and Benelli shotguns. Shells are staggered for right- or left-handed grip and are spaced with minimum distance to each other. Required belt space is also minimized. Positioning of the shells is absolute uniform through the rig and allowsfor consistent use ofall modern shotgun loading techniques and for example mixing load-2 and load-4. The claybird crowd tend to gravitate toward vests and pouches. Upland hunters wear game vests suitable for carrying shells and game birds. Waterfowl hunters may add a shell case for use in a boat or blind. They’re also seen on Sporting Clays courses (described as golf with a shotgun). Wear a high-count version and you may resemble Pancho Villa. Better eat your Wheaties too. Further concerns are access, weather exposure, lost shells, and little-to-no space for other items – like a sidearm. By contrast, the unobtrusive 5-shell flap-covered versions we adopted for duty use were a huge success. Nowadays, I find myself using more game vests and belt-hung shell pouches than anything, the latter during informal claybird shoots. However, I still use those handy flap-covered bandoleers, sometimes with a dual-shell clip-on thingy.
