This compact device from Roberts isn’t the biggest or most powerful DAB radio in the world – but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t offer plenty of value. The radio also works when you’re using battery power – making it ideal for when you’re out and about. There are also multiple alarm functions if you want to set different alerts for specific days. However, you cannot expect more from an audio system in this compact size. The integrated equalizer allows you to adjust the sound to your taste. Thus, trebles, mids and basses can be adjusted here. If you don’t have that much tonal sensitivity, you can also select the predefined equalizer modes from Roberts. Fitted with DAB+, DAB and FM tuners, the Roberts Blutune 300 is well equipped for tuning into a wide range of radio stations. DAB+ and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) give you access to the widest range of stations, in crisp and clear digital sound quality. In case your favourite stations aren't available in DAB, the Blutune 300 is also equipped with an FM tuner.

While it’s certainly not the cheapest radio/CD player, the Roberts Blutune100 Sound System offers value for money given its quality and durability. This sound system sounds amazing, so if you want to enjoy your music in all its depth and detail, the Blutune100 is a good choice. The traditional British company rather stands for premium radios since the year 1932 and is nothing less than the court supplier of the crown. All the greater is the pressure that weighs on the shoulders of the hifi expert with each new release. The BluTune 300 is the latest audio system to be launched by the Brits. Since we are now writing the year 2021, this can of course not only receive radio waves, but much more. We take a look at the noble piece of hi-fi technology in our detailed test. Technical details of the Roberts BluTune 300 Device type The Roberts Blutune T2 is a great combination of form and function. When you set the alarm, you can either choose to have the machine wake you up with a buzz or with the radio station of your choice. Notably, it can take a little longer to find a Bluetooth connection from time-to-time – but this is common with most digital radios. It’s also worth noting that the FM connectivity isn’t the best that I’ve come across – but there’s really no need to rely solely on FM when you have such a strong DAB signal. Charging your smartphone couldn’t be easier than with the Blutune 300. Simply place a Qi-charging compatible smartphone (or other compatible device) on the dedicated place on top of the system. For none compatible devices, you can also charge via the USB interface.

Roberts gives you the option to either wake up to the sound of a standard buzzer, or a pre-set radio station. There’s also a snooze button for when you need “five more minutes.” On the front of the device, you’ll find a fantastic digital screen where you can browse through music options and even connect to Bluetooth. There are more affordable options out there, and to some extent, you’re paying for the classic Roberts styling and attention to detail with this model. However, we think it might be worth splashing the extra cash.

If the radio doesn’t find a DAB signal, relocate it to an area with better reception. Once in the new area, conduct a second scan to find the signal. In terms of sound quality, you can expect exceptional clarity and clear tones from the Blutune 5. Like most of the Bluetooth radios that you’ll find in the Roberts Radio portfolio, this stylish number doesn’t compromise on sound. In terms of its audio output, the Blutune goes a little louder than we expected, given its compactness, but it does sound a little harsh and grating in its default sound mode preset. That can be improved with some of the Equaliser modes, however, although you’ll never be able to get a sense of true stereo – again it’s a size thing. What’s more, the Blutune T2 also features a nifty leather carry handle, making it even easier to transport. It’s not as small as the Roberts Sports, but it’s also intended for more than just one person to use at a time. What’s more, like with most Roberts devices, you’ll find that the DAB connection is particularly strong.
