This moisturizing gel cream was designed to boost radiance and even out skin tone with the antioxidant power of vitamin C. This particular product contains a vitamin C ester called ascorbyl glucoside. While this ingredient does not have the same amount of research to confirm it’s efficacy that pure ascorbic acid does, this ingredient does have some notable unsides. Vitamin C esters are considerably easier to formulate with, as they are stabilized to prevent oxidation. This means that you can use the formula for longer without losing any potency. In addition to this ingredient, REN also has an extensive list of ingredients that they refuse to use in their products due to their potential irritancy. This includes ingredients like synthetic fragrance, petrochemicals, sulfate detergents, silicones, synthetic colors, animal ingredients and parabens. For example, a 1-star review of the Daily AHA tonic read, “ Wouldn’t recommend for sensitive dry skin.
