It’s a great time to be alive for G&T lovers, with more innovative gins and flavoured tonics available than ever before. But, while a wealth of options is definitely nice, it can also become a little overwhelming. Cucumber juice is a very alkalizing and hydrating drink, rich in nutrients such as vitamins A, C, K, magnesium, silicon and potassium. It has the ability to cleanse and detoxify the entire body, as well as help relieve digestive problems such as gastritis, acidity, heartburn, indigestion and ulcers. It is also an ideal way to properly hydrate the body since it contains beneficial electrolytes capable of transporting nutrients and hydration deep into cells and tissues, making it much more effective than water alone. I think you can see from my photos that I LOVE a loooot of cucumber in my gin tonic. I just find it a lot more refreshing and exciting. A rarity from their Signature range, Schweppes Salty Lemon Tonic Water is a treat for those with an adventurous palate. Personally, I have a bit of a soft spot for Schweppes. Not aided at all by it’s current advertising which is infuriatingly patronising. Even more so when it was subsequently dubbed with an English accent – loves, it wasn’t the accent we had an issue with, but the whole tone. Okay, so maybe it’s not technically a tonic, but we just couldn’t resist tempting you to turn your next G&T into a G&G.Is cucumber juice safe to consume during pregnancy or breastfeeding? Yes, cucumber juice is safe and healthy to consume during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Should I drink cucumber juice before or after my celery juice? It’s best to drink your celery juice on an empty stomach in the morning (or 15 to 30 minutes after lemon water). You can then drink your cucumber juice 15 to 30 minutes after your celery juice or later in the day, away from other foods and drinks. Can I freeze cucumber juice and make it in advance? If you can’t drink your cucumber juice after making it, and making ahead and freezing is your only option, then freezing it is okay. But this is a last resort, and should not be a habit. Fresh is always best. The healing properties of cucumber juice will decrease by freezing it. With a sharp mix of zingy lemon and sparkling bubbles, Bitter Lemon is especially good at enhancing very herbaceous or floral gins.

Using ginger ale is the perfect way to infuse your drink with a spicy, aromatic touch while still getting the refreshing bubbliness you want from a tonic water. Cucumber juice is also an excellent remedy for lowering fever in children and convalescents.
