About this deal

Once I’ve finished the legs off I drybrush the bottom areas with a light dusting of Celestra Grey. This blends Abaddon into the base and gives him a much more weathered appearance.

Warpstone Glow is a bright, almost fluorescent green that you can use to highlight other green paint layers. I along with others have used this to create glowing effects, e.g., object source lighting (OSL), by adding more and more white paint. Metallics Leadbelcher I decided to paint the British Napoleonic Highlander Centre Companies box from Victrix for this HTPE, tartan and all. Some might call that foolish, and they would be right. Vallejo make White Grey 70.993 in their VMC line, but it's lighter than Grey Seer, much closer to white, but in the same realm of being a relatively neutral grey (not particularly warm nor particularly cool). VMC also have "Neutral Grey 70.992" which I've sometimes used as a light grey but unfortunately I can't find my bottle at the moment so I can't compare it to Grey Seer.Hey guys Cavalier here, commission painter for Frontline Gaming and co-host of Splintermind the Dark Eldar podcast here today with a painting tutorial on how to paint white models! So if you like the look of this Lion of Chrace I’ll show you how I did it. Stormhost Silver is a bright, silvery metallic paint. There’s not much to say except that this is probably the best metallic paint for highlighting steel metals you can find in the Citadel line. A comparable metallic paint would be Vallejo Steel Paint, which may not apply as easily to sharp edges. I tend not to use this bright silver as a base metallic paint because it doesn’t have the best coverage. But, with a bit of patience, you will find this eminently useful as a highlighting metallic paint for brightening up metals, even golds. Retributor Armour I've got a project which calls for a light drybrush of Grey Seer. While I know most any light grey paint would work, I thought it would be worth it to ask and see if anyone has an opinion on which Citadel, Game Color or Model Color paint would be the best match, as Google searches seem to only give recommendations on spray cans. Thanks.

Personally I didn’t add grass tufts just to underscore the bleakness of the battlefield. But you certainly could add some here and there for variance. Coat D'Arms match the OLD citadel colours (pre-1992) so there might be some difference. Shining gold has the most noticeable difference, You could try the ones I mentioned, Vallejo White Grey or Neutral Grey, but he former would need to be darkened slightly if you want a match for Grey Seer and the latter may need to be lightened, I'm not sure on the VMC Neutral Grey, if you want I can dig through my hobby bin and find my VMC Neutral Grey and see what it's like next to Grey Seer. I base the whole thing in Mechanicus Standard Grey, then wash it unevenly with Agrax Earthshade. From there i heavily drybrush on Dawnstone and then lightly with Terminatus Stone. The goal here is to make sure the undersides are the parts being highlighted, which is kind of the reverse from how you’d normally do it. Just think about where the light is coming from as you do this. I also did a blend of Evil Sunz Scarlet and Fire Dragon bright into the gold trim surrounding the head.

Dark Brown

So thats it guys! Thats my approach to painting white. I hope you found it helpful and that it took some of the mystique out this reputedly difficult process. I’m very happy with how it came out and they make a great exotic addition to my Corsair themed Eldar. If you need any tips or advice feel free to ask away in the comments section below, I’m always happy to talk painting.
