About this deal

It is absolutely possible to develop film in cold water, but you’ll have the best, most reliable results when developing it at the optimal temperature as outlined in the kit. This doesn’t necessarily extend the life of the chemical, but it does ensure that the results are consistent from roll to roll. Our new Cs41 Powder Kit is free of transportation restrictions and can be easily shipped internationally! All other color chemistry on the market is classified as "Limited Quantity Hazardous" (ORM-D) and can only be shipped via Ground within the Continental United States due to DOT regulations. This is no longer the case with our Powder formulas! As it stands, the small differences are easy to fix in the scanner, Negative Lab Pro, or even in the darkroom. Lomo 400 at night. Image taken on a Hasselblad 500c. Final thoughts After some years of film developing it is notably easier to develop colour film in the warmer summer months in the UK (for me). I tend to have a cold house for the rest of the year (and save money on utility bills so I can buy more cameras!).

When you open the box you’ll see all six bottles clearly labelled and a booklet of instructions. We particularly like that you don’t need to do any maths when mixing up the chemicals with this kit. It all quite simple. For each step, you mix its chemicals together and top up with water to make 1L. Vision3 film needs the remjet removing so it can’t be lab developed). ( See how to remove remjet). If you want to get Vision3 film with the Remjet already removed just buy CineStill 50D or Cinestill 800T. You can at any time make a request to Film Foto Store to find out what personal information we hold concerning you. You may at any time, and by request, modify this information. A few things to bear in mind. Tetenal suggests that to get the best yield rate out of the chemicals, you process at least four rolls of film at a time. Also, high ISO film will exhaust the developer at a faster rate, so be prepared to get fewer rolls through a kit if you shoot 800 and above. For example if the chemicals are 40 degrees celcius (from the bath of warm water I use) I just tip the solution from a greater height into the Paterson tank to “air cool” the liquid closer to the recommended 38 degrees. Another option is to let the pre-warmed Paterson tank cool a little before adding the slightly too warm chemicals. I forget how easy colour film developing is!

The instructions in general are fairly short and don’t go into nearly as much detail as the Arista, Cinestill, or Tetenal kit instructions do. It is important to maintain the chemistry at 30°C when you process colour film. To avoid a temperature drop, and to prepare your film, you need to warm the tank up. To do this, fill your tank, with the film already loaded, with 30°C water for 5 minutes before starting to develop. After 5 minutes you can pour the water away.

Reminder: you do not need a darkroom to develop your film. after the film is safely sealed in the development tank, you will not have to worry about it being exposed to light and you can complete the process in normal lighting conditions.
