About this deal

You can make your way to the other side of the board by cutting across the middle along the spokes. You can land on the same space as another player. But you have to land on the hub by exact count. If you overshoot and move past the hub, then keep playing and answer the question for that space. Try to roll an exact count on your next turn to reach the hub. If the player in control missed a question, the question was fielded as a toss-up for the other two players and the one who answered correctly received control and the half-wedge, if it had not already been filled in on his/her pie. If nobody answered correctly, another toss-up was played to determine control. The moment someone pauses or hesitates using the words ‘hmm’ or ‘errrrm,’ everyone must stand up and do a silly dance. That’s the family-friendly version. Are you over 21 and drinking? Then that person has to do a shot! 4. “No Pinks”

At the start of the game, you should all agree on how much time players should be allowed to answer a question. Also, decide how accurate answers should be. For example, you may agree that only giving a last name is enough to score a correct answer. You might, however, decide that both first and last names must be given to constitute a winning answer. You might also decide to have different rules for younger and for older players. Alternative Game The two men were planning to play Scrabble. However, once they realized they had pieces missing, they created their own game instead. This experimental game would lay the foundation for what would later become Trivial Pursuit. This round was played in the same way as Round 1, except the three highest-scoring players won a prize and a chance to play Trivial Pursuit in the next half-hour show. It’s important to remember that yellow cards are for kids and blue cards are for adults! Don’t go getting those confused as it might lead to a somewhat awful evening. You can, of course, choose to combine the cards depending on the ages of the kids in your group. This would allow for more variety of questions, but wait and see how your children are dealing with the yellow questions before you go mixing it up.Another earlier version of the game lists the categories as Every Day, Fun, Stories and Songs, Science, Nature, and Games. While a couple of these categories overlap with the traditional Trivial Pursuit categories (All About Nature pairs with Science, and Music and Movies qualify as Art and Entertainment), there are some wild cards in there that make this game a little less predictable and a little more fun for younger players. All of these categories feature multiple-choice questions regarding subjects that younger kids are familiar with. If you were to ask 100 people in the USA to name a trivia board game, then Trivial Pursuit—with a nod to both Cranium and Wits & Wagers—would likely be the most popular answer. Trivial Pursuit has won over many hearts in its 40 plus years of existence. Hughes, Gwen (November 1986). "Trivial Pursuit". Ysrnry.co.uk. Archived from the original on 2014-06-18 . Trivial Pursuit Master Game - The 1980's (1989, released in both Master Game and Subsidiary Card Set editions) Of course, the categories have been tweaked in some editions. Each thematic edition presents its own categories that are specific to the theme of the game. As in the board game, the object for each player was to fill in all of the colored wedges on a large pie-shaped game board in front of them. Each wedge was a different color and represented a different category, with the categories requiring two correct answers to fill a wedge. Trivial Pursuit Edition Genus". cpc-power.com. Wall's mother testified she found drawings of his that looked like plans for a Trivial Pursuit-like game, but the drawings had since been destroyed. Wall's friend, who was allegedly hitchhiking with him that day, never testified. Haney said he never met Wall.

If all the more “seasoned” players are on one team, they could be kind and spot the younger teams the pink pie or even agree not to ask a pink question for the final challenge. Have mercy! This means players should move carefully to ensure they land a subject they are confident they can win. The genius (get it?) of Trivial Pursuit is its simplicity and easy ruleset. Anyone can understand how to play the game within a couple of minutes of sitting down at the table and having the concepts of Trivial Pursuit themes and Trivial Pursuit topics explained to them. Collecting the six different colored wedges in your playing piece—or pieces of cheese/cake/pizza depending on the group you play with—makes for a visually fulfilling task, especially when you are down to just one—let’s say the Trivial Pursuit yellow wedge—to complete your player piece and move to the end game. If you’re a seasoned player, you will find that most editions follow similar gameplay. If you land on the same wedge space later in the game and you already have a wedge of that color, treat it as an ordinary space and answer a question from the matching category.
