Due to portions of the script being taken verbatim from the original book, the narrator says that James and Henry pulled Gordon out of the ditch but only James can be seen. On the 1991 Australian release, the opening shot for the episode Thomas and Gordon is the same one on all of the other odd numbered episodes featured. In the US, this episode aired before Whistles and Sneezes, so American viewers would not understand the "jammed whistles" line until George Carlin narrated the aforementioned episode in 1991. Gordon is waiting outside platform 2 for his coaches, but when Thomas puffs in, Gordon and his coaches are outside platforms 3 and 4.
