About this deal

This fascinating journey starts with this first book of The Last Dragon Chronicles, in which you get to meet the main character himself, David Rain. He seems like a pretty ordinary guy, a college student who is trying to make something of himself in this world. Chris D'Lacey is a very nostalgic author for myself considering my adoration for the phenomenal series of 'The Last Dragon Chronicles', so to enter a familiar world that is somewhat distant from that of these fond character memories was truly enchanting.

With the Earth on the brink of recolonisation by dragons, David Rain is sent on an important mission: to seek out and destroy a trace of dark fire, the deadliest force in the universe. But with success could come a terrible price, the sacrifice of a beloved clay dragon. How much does the life of one small dragon count when the alternative is the birth of a darkling...?And the final part of this story is where you get to see how this epic journey into a different place finally ends, but not before you meet a couple more characters who are about to make the ending a lot more thrilling. There are a few, who are known as the evil Ix who have managed to take over and gain control over one of the majestic firebirds which is something that brings its own thrilling events and situations. In a world between Earth and Ki:mera, called Co:pern:ica, lives a twelve-year-old boy named David. He and his friend Rosanna spend their days in the librarium, a museum for books, with the curator, Mr Henry, and the mysterious firebirds that roam the upper levels. The story in this book has a few darker events, but it is nothing to get worried about, as it is still a book series for children, in which they can let their imaginations flow wild in a world where live clay dragons exist and make everyone’s days more exciting. Few More Dragons

David is initially skeptical of the notion that he can make things happen by merely writing them. But as the story progresses, he is forced to open his mind to the possibility that the clay dragons in his new home are not quite as inanimate and powerless as he assumed.Ancient dragon legends, people who can change into polar bears, evil entities that enter earth from another world, dragons resurrecting, a world where thoughts create what people have and a library that saves that world are all part of this story. I was pretty disappointed with this one. Quite a few of my kids at school really like this one and the series. It has a pretty cool core idea with some dragon lore and living dragon statues, but then like 80% of the book is about saving some squirrels! Who cares?! Seriously. The little girl and the main 20-yr-old freaking out so much about the squirrels isn't really believable and it definitely isn't interesting. As the weather grows wilder and the ice caps melt, all eyes turn from the north to David's daughter, Alexa. She is the key to stopping it... but can one girl save the world from the forces of evil or will she disappear like her father? The series begins with a college student (David Rain) renting a room from a lady with a young daughter. Liz Pennykettle creates dragons that move. Her daughter, Lucy, loves squirrels and David helps her relocate a squirrel their neighbor hates. David, with the help of a dragon made by Liz, then writes a story about the squirrels.

See the dragon on the cover? Go ahead and replace him with a squirrel, and then add the metafictional element that the unapologetic author insert is writing a story about the squirrel and his squirrel friends, doing squirrel stuff. Then add an obnoxious kid obsessed with the squirrels, a jammed-in love interest, and two maudlin squirrel funerals. Timey-Wimey Ball: Oh God. There are too many examples to list, though things start getting particularly crazy from Dark Fire onward. Taken to extremes in The Fire Ascending. The Last Dragon Chronicles is a group of bestselling children's fantasy novels by the English author Chris d'Lacey. The series began in 2001, and is still going. As of this writing, there are seven main books in the series, plus a spinoff series for young readers. There are three parts to the story inside, which are neatly organized and divided so that you can better understand all of the events that are going on inside. This review will try to show you brief descriptions about each of the parts without too many spoilers so that you can know what to expect in this sixth book of the series. Part One The End... Or Is It?: The ending of Fire Ascending, though specified as definite by D'lacey, seemed... less then definite. Though the ending was played off as a Nested Story Reveal, Bergstrom had the mark of Oomara which David never knew about, and Gadzooks came alive on Elizabeth's grave... Next, the bad: Too many characters, and dragons had too many powers (imaging, time travel, space travel, illusions, fire, poison, telekinesis, telepathy, memory transfer, consciousness transfer, etc.), too violent and killed too many characters, and it wasn't really a happy ending. The characters are likable and entertaining, if one-dimensional, but it's disappointing that you don't really learn anything about David. It's implied he's a geography student, it's implied he plays the guitar, he's caring, he's definitely creative, and definitely very awkward, but that's about the extent of what you learn about him. The relationships the characters form are quite cute, though the romance is underdeveloped. But then, I don't really expect developed romance from a children's book.
