About this deal

Stratia Liquid Gold also includes a decent amount of rosehip oil, an excellent skincare ingredient that includes beneficial components like beta carotene, all-trans retinoic acid, and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). These components stimulate cellular regeneration and improve the skin’s barrier function, resulting in healthier, brighter skin. Its texture is rich but my skin absorbs it without trouble and it leaves it super soothed. I still use a night cream on top of it or even a sleeping mask but if my skin was still combo, the Liquid Gold treatment could very well be used as my night moisturizer!

If you have dry skin though, you may prefer a heavier cream or two layers of Liquid Gold to keep your face healthy. The three signaling peptides above use two encapsulated and targeted peptides to help them get to where they need to go: But is Stratia Liquid Gold right for you? To help you answer this question, below we’ll give you all the details on the key ingredients in this formula, as well as the research that supports (or doesn’t support) their use in skin care.

Licorice root extract and allantoin gently brighten your skin without causing irritation like a lactic acid exfoliant might. Nourish your skin barrier Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Ethoxydiglycol, Niacinamide, Propylene Glycol, 2-Dimethylamino Ethanol (DMAE), Panthenol, Hydrolized Rice Protein, N-Acetyl Glucosamine, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Tamarindus Indica (Tamarind) Seed Extract, Hydrocotyl (Centella Asiatica) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA. Stratia mixes natural and synthetic ingredients without making a fuss. And to preserve the formulas, efficiency and common sense prevails so they use good old parabens (when I saw them in the list, I almost teared up a little with joy 😅. Finally, a brand that is brave enough to resist the “clean” misinformation about them!). Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Mandelic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Panthenol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Matricaria Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate. Stratia Velvet Cleansing Milk

Now the question is only this: If we put ceramides all over our face do theywork as well as ceramides already naturally in our skin? Well, the answer is probably a no, but they do work to some extent. The BeautyBrains blog made a fantastic article about ceramides and they have listed a couple of examples about studies showing that ceramides - especially when used in certain ratios with cholesterol and fatty acids - do hydrate the skin and can help to repair the skin barrier. I’ve been using Liquid Gold now for a good month and even if the smell is a bit strange, I’m enjoying it more and more! I’ve found that this is quite light and sinks into your skin well if you don’t apply too much. It doesn’t drag when you apply it like a more linoleic-rich oil, but also doesn’t feel like it’s dripping off my face either (a bit problem when you’re oily!). It has quite a strong musty oil smell – to me it isn’t unpleasant, but I can imagine it could bother some people. I’ve been mixing a couple of drops with Liquid Gold when my skin feels extra dry, and using it under tretinoin to try to reduce irritation – it’s working really well for both. I’ve also lent this to my sister to help with spironolactone-induced dryness and she loves it too! Signaling peptides work by telling your body to make more essential proteins to protect your skin barrier. Interface includes 3 different targeted peptides to help with this:How it worked: And here’s where the other part of the title of this post comes into play. I have a long and glorious history of overexfolating my skin because…well, basically because that’s what I thought I was supposed to do. Physical exfoliants, all sorts of acids, inappropriately high strength retinoids…I would throw them all at my face at once every single day until literally my whole top layer of skin peeled off in sheets in the shower and I was shiny and red as a cherry. Even normally gentle products would sting like the devil, and I never questioned it because I honestly thought that’s how it was supposed to work. I’d fry the life out of my skin until I couldn’t handle it (so like 3-4 straight days of all this), then take a break for a week, maybe less, and then I’d start all over again. It was a roller coaster, let me tell you, and I did this for years.
