A request for 6 Prestige FG handles and 5 lid knobs came from Owen Matthews in London (Jan '18). After they were done and sent out to him, he sent the following message:

The aluminium ferrule of an "FT" style of pan often gets eaten away by the caustic action of some detergent products. The ferrule can easily be replaced, but only in association with a new handle which has been made to match. before shelling out for a new set, i thought i'd try and see if i can get any replacement or repair, or money toward the new set, whatever. the way the handles are attached is a real weak link in an otherwise really solid ,quality product. I bought some Prestige pans with a 25 year guarantee about 15-20 years ago. These were the dishwasher proof ones with plastic handles. We didn't have a dishwasher at the time but I was hoping to have one eventually. However the design of these handles was poor, when washed in the diswasher they fill with water which slowly leaks everywhere afterwards. (Has anyone else had this problem?) Two of the handles have now come off, as the bolt inside has broken.Using an extended rod to connect it all together, you see the final result here. A very practical way to enhance a valuable Prestige copper bottom pan with extra functionallity and good looks (Nov '21).

I have made replacement Prestige pan handles on many occasions. Like many others, the lifetime guarantee on the pan DOES NOT cover the handle, but, as always, I am happy to try and help refurbish your pans and lids. I rang Meyer which took over the Prestige company in 1998, but they don't feel bound to honour the lifetime guarrantie on my pan. Meyer offered to sell me a replacement part if they had one. They didn't.

i've got a set of prestige stainless steel copper-bottom saucepans, they are just over 7 years old. they were expensive but were supposed to be worth it as i thought they would last a lot longer than this. If you cook over a gas-fired flame, the good news is that every single Prestige saucepan will be perfectly compatible. Just remember to keep a watchful eye on the flame and make sure that it doesn’t reach up beyond the base – this could potentially damage the handle, waste your gas, or taint the outside of the saucepan. This handle style is attached to the pan with a hooked bolt measuring 132mm (measured from the pan, as shown here) and a barrel nut in the end of the handle.
