Cadbury Oreo White Chocolate Bar, 120 g

The bar has a soft, slightly chewy nougat centre (made with authentic Oreo cocoa), topped with a layer of vanilla creme (made with authentic Oreo vanilla), sprinkled with, you guessed it, authentic Oreo pieces and coated in a layer of milk chocolate. Add dry ingredients and mix just until incorporated. Stir in Oreos and white chocolate chips. Press dough into pan. If you want your Oreo Bark in perfect squares, place the blade of your knife in hot water for 30 seconds. Dry the blade well and place it against the bark to score the bark and let the heat of the blade melt a line into the bark. This will be an exercise in patience but it will make clean lines.

I will admit that Oreos don’t always stay as my favourite biscuit, I adore others like Custard Creams, or even the classic Digestive.. but Oreos are just more popular on the internet! It’s a complete contrast to the likes of Chocolate Chip Salted Caramel or Dark Chocolate Raspberry, but it’s a bit of FUN. Fudged Up – 7/10 With an already excellent flavour, Grenade could almost have gotten away without the Oreo pieces, but they do lend a nice crunch (and additional ‘authenticity’) to tie this bar together.I have to say, the overall flavour is similar to that of the OG bar– maybe a little too familiar for some – probably owing to the caramel layer. There is some peanut flavour, but it’s much gentler than I, and other peanut lovers like me, would perhaps have liked. Grenade have definitely switched something up with their more recent flavours – the overall texture is softer and they’ve outgrown the crispies. This bar continues the theme and, in fact, might actually be the fudgiest bar yet. It’s actually squidgy!

Appearance wise, it looks the same as the rest of the range, but with a nice looking dark chocolate coating, and there’s a strong smell of mint (duh) when you open it. Whereas the ‘older’ bars all seem to hover around 15-16g, the newer flavours have been consistently up at 18-20g, almost matching the 20-22g protein in each bar. Thus, on seeing that Grenade had released a PB&J bar, I audibly shrieked with excitement (I never said I was cool).

For this recipe I used white chocolate chips instead of white chocolate melting wafers or disks. This is because the flavor of white chocolate is better than the melting disks.
