About this deal

Your brushing technique, routine and diet will have a bigger impact on your teeth and making them whiter than the brushing mode alone. Two of the more cost effective models within the Oral-B range of electric toothbrushes, these two are among the most popular models available on the market today and either serve the vast majority of users very well. The CrossAction brush comes as standard with the Oral-B Pro 2 2500N. As the brush head size is quite small, it means that it easily accesses the most difficult of molar teeth. This in my view is the best brush head Oral-B make. This is because it has special bristles that are angled at 16 degrees, which allow it to clean close to the gum line. This travel case holds the handle and up to 2 brush heads. It is a transparent case and is fairly basic in its overall design, but most importantly, it is functional. When the handle detects you are brushing with excess force the motor will slow the brush head and the light ring at the top of the handle will illuminate red. When it does, you need to relieve the pressure until the light goes out.

Unlike some brushes, the Pro 3 3500 doesn’t power off automatically. This may be a disappointment to some, but it’s not a big issue. The visible pressure sensor will alert you when you are brushing too hard There are cheaper alternatives from Oral-B and other lesser known brands but these come with compromises.

Whilst each has its place within the market, it is the Pro Series that is the most logical option for the majority.

You can always switch between the way you want to brush with two modes of daily clean and gum care. Daily clean mode helps in comprehensive everyday cleaning. The gum care mode, on the other hand, helps to gently stimulate gums. The pacer momentarily pauses the brushing action every 30 seconds to tell you to move on to the next part of the mouth. After 2 minutes the alert changes slightly to tell you that you have brushed for long enough. It is easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store, compact, and travel-friendly. It has gum pressure control to remind you if you go above the gentle brushing routines. This is common amongst electric toothbrushes, but it has not been designed to be easily repaired by yourself. Trying to replace parts like the battery will likely break the brush. This makes it more likely to be discarded rather than repaired if broken.

With the Pro 3, there are a series of dimples running from the top to the bottom of the handle. These dimples are far more subtle in appearance. They do provide texture onto which the fingertips can grip, but they are not quite as effective as the raised ridges on the 2000.So, both models come with a place to store brush heads, but the compartment with the 9000 is better than the stand offered with the Smart 6. It should be noted, that the brush heads supplied with either the Pro 2 2500 or 3 3500 can differ. Typically they are either CrossAction or 3D White with both models. Although, there is a variant of the Pro 2 2500 that comes with a Sensi UltraThin brush head. Prices are always subject to change of course, but I do believe the Pro 2 is the better buy, even if the Pro 3 offers subtle benefits.
