About this deal

Perler beads and hama beads are two different brands of fuse beads. Both are popular with crafters, but there are a few differences between them.

Leave your bead design to cool for a short time, then carefully remove it from the pegboard. Once you have removed the design from the board, the beads will be fused together on one side, flip the design and on a heat proof flat surface, iron the other side with the paper. This post has step by step pictures. Most bead kits come with the ironing paper, but if they don’t, you can get parchment at the grocery store near the wax paper or in the baking aisle. Looking for cute Hama bead ideas? Make these fun fruit key chains with my easy to follow patterns – I’ve got four fun Hama bead designs with a fruity twist – pineapple, watermelon, strawberry and kiwi fruit. I have also on some of our designs used Mod Podge to coat over the finished product just to give it a bit extra strength. When Hama Beads Can Be Used

Then your journey can really begin! And in terms of beginnings, I think the best place to start with this post is by explaining the material you’re going to be working with. I know there are a lot of cheaper options for beads instead of the Hama beads but I would be wary of these. We have used the cheaper beads in the past and to make your design on the pegboard they are fine but they are a lot harder to iron and fuse together. This cute Frankenstein pattern is perfect for Halloween and Krysanthe has lots of other simple Halloween patterns to try too.

Parchment paper - Parchment paper (or wax paper) is used to cover your perler beads and protect the surface of your iron while fusing. You can get specialist ironing paper for fusing your beads but normal kitchen parchment paper works just as well and is much cheaper. Llama perder bead pattern, owl, fox and unicorn perler bead pattern. NOTE: For the owl you need to use a hexagon perler bead pegboard. Hama Beads are easy to use; I have even had a 3-year-old who has put the Hama beads onto the pegboards when I was childminding. Obviously, the ironing part is an adult-only job. Great Activity

How to:

These pacman designs are fun and easy. For the pacman, just start at the center of a small circle pegboard and work your way out until you reach the desired size. Tweezers - Crafting with perler beads can be a little bit fiddly, so a pair of tweezers can be a great way to make things a little easier. Plastic gripper tweezers are a great option for children as they are safe for little hands and really help them work on their fine motor skills. How to use perler beads step-by-step It's a matter of personal preference as to how much you iron the beads. I like to leave the holes in the beads visible but some people like a smoother look. Just be careful not to over iron as this will make the beads impossible to remove from the board, and may warp and damage the board.
