Babies and younger children (three months to six years old) can have a formulation containing 120mg per 5ml of liquid, while older children (6-12 years) can have a formulation that has 250mg per 5ml of liquid (e.g. Calpol SixPlus suspension). For all other ages it's a maximum of three times in 24 hours at the following dosages: 1-3 years (5ml), 4-6 years (7.5ml), 7-9 years (10ml) and 10-11 years (15ml).

The speed of absorption of Paracetamol may be increased by metoclopramide or domperidone and absorption reduced by cholestyramine.
