About this deal

What an unexpectedly emotional and poignant story from the rom com queen, Meghan Quinn. The Reunion is full of tenderness, emotional resonance, and soulful complexity. It's a story about the magic and challenges of family, about the shared experience of pain and love, about the depths of being a human, and I really enjoyed this story. Yes, he and Maxime are in very real danger of having what they did in 1992 be exposed and come crashing down on them -- but that isn't even close to just the half of it.

For me, a large part of enjoying a thriller is twists that I do not see coming. There were plenty of twists in this book that blew my mind, even when I guessed some of them they still managed to make me feel really tense. I went into this with no preconceptions and I think that really helped! I didn’t expect there to be any twists so I wasn’t looking for them. It made me enjoy this book so much more. En una trama donde predominan los secretos, los celos, la sed de venganza pero... ¿de quién? No se confundan porque no es todo tan obvio como parece en un principio y nada es como aparenta ser. Girl on the verge” is hailed by critics as iconic and trailblazing, a breakthrough hit shattered records after records for six complete season! It ended with a cliffhanger. Will the heroine live the town to chase her dreams or will she stays with hero to ride into the sunset? Two main stars Liv Latimer and Ransom Joel were close friends during the filming but after the wrapping up the last episode they parted their ways. Ransom was headlined many box office smash hits as Liv chose a quieter route, pivoting to the world of low budget indie movies. The Reunion is told in alternating chapters, between the current day and the past (leading up to the current day), so each of the events and twists (and there are SO many twists!) are slowly revealed, right up to the very end. The actual event that sparked Emily’s desire for revenge didn’t feel as overwhelmingly damaging and life destroying to me? Maybe I’m just not as easily embarrassed 😅 but that feeling didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story at all. The author kept the level of suspense up for the entire story and made sure we never really knew who was trustworthy and who had something to hide.Gan grāmata, gan seriāls man bija kolosāla atgriešanās Azūra krastā, no kurienes tieši tikko biju atbraukusi un kas noteikti palīdzēja vēl spilgtāk iztēloties atmosfēru un notikuma vietas grāmatā. 🌊🌴

Mom glances at her delicate gold watch. “Austin and Ted— Theo—were scheduled to land a few minutes after we did. Can you see them anywhere, hon?” Martin and Peggy Chance believe love should last a lifetime. With their fiftieth wedding anniversary on the horizon, they’ve modeled a beautiful relationship for their three grown children. But to their dismay, that lesson hasn’t quite caught on—the three siblings just can’t seem to take a chance and find love in their own lives. Romances aside, familial love also played a big part of this story and Mama and Papa Chance not only brought the humor in this book, they also brought the unconditional love.

Martin and Peggy were absolutely delightful parents! They were fun loving and quite the jokers. I was rolling with some of the things they'd say, and Martin's coloring was good stuff. I really enjoy Meghan's writing style and look forward to when I can get my hands on another one of her books. I’m all for women not being victims/doormats and if there is one thing that Polly does superbly is create great female characters. Whether they are good or bad you can’t help but like them. Lyla was glorious in all her abysmal glory and I was longing for her comeuppance. So, not my very favorite MQ read, but I'm probably in the minority. Still a good read, just not a great one for me.

Even adult Thomas doesn't seem to have learned much, as he rushes around non-stop (and into things, headlong), rarely taking the time to deliberate. Much suspicion on dubious characters and basically being lead down many paths, keeping the reader on their toes. So, what genre would I consider this? Well, a romcom of course, but it’s also so much more than that! It’s a romcom with family drama thrown in. This book hits a lot of emotions and watching all three of these siblings find love and even acceptance with one another was truly wonderful. I just adored this book to pieces. The Reunion is mostly narrated by Thomas Degalais, an author who very much resembles author Musso himself, from his enormous success -- "I had written a dozen novels that had been translated into twenty languages and sold millions of copies all over the world" -- to the year (though admittedly not day) of their births (1974). So The Reunion does, or should, leave rather a sour aftertaste to it; Musso presumably argues for penance served The kids -- Thomas and his buddy Maxime, as well as Fanny, turn out to only be privvy to a slice of the information -- what they were involved with -- and extrapolate far too easily from this.
