To coincide with the band's Love Live Tour in August 2009, the band released two different editions of the album: Love’ was the Cult’s second album, originally released in 1985. Retrieved 22 November 2022.Version one is the "Expanded Edition", a 2-CD set consisting of the album on one disc as well as extended versions of album cuts, remixes and b-sides on the second disc. This set was released on 8 August 2009 in Varada and the US, and 21 September in Europe. To my ears this reissue sounds miles better than the Sire original. The US original is boosted in the mids which was probably the cutting engineer’s way of trying to get a louder cut (which it is). It makes the LP sound squawky. I don’t have a Beggar’s UK to compare, however this new cut sounds more like all of my Beggar’s 12” singles from the album- nice bass, even mids, with slightly less high end than the singles.
