About this deal

Like the previous books, author Nancy Spring continues to give us rhyming titles in the fashion more suited to the Victorian era adventures. It is also a clue that the book prominently features flowers, and the language of flowers that we have seen Enola and her mother using for communication through the previous stories. There is also the fact that the language of flowers was predominantly considered a female domain. Enola mentions at one point in book how almost every other woman in England could have been counted a botanist. So, it also fits in the female-oriented narrative that Enola Holmes series has been featuring as the author shows us the daily injustices of Victorian times. This title is only available as an ebook or audiobook. [7] Enola Holmes and the Elegant Escapade (2022) [ edit ] In questo terzo volume della saga edita in Italia da DeA, ho trovato un miglioramento madornale della penna dell'autrice, nonché una vera marcia in più nelle vicende.

Una tercera parte que engancha y que deja con ganas de continuar con la saga. La lectura es amena en todo momento, así que entre eso y lo corto que es el libro (205 páginas), me lo acabé en un par de sentadas. As is typical, coded messages play a central role. Toward the end, there’s a coded message that isn’t decrypted for the reader immediately. Enola as the narrator asks the reader to wait until she reveals the message, even though certainly we could figure out the coded message. I wonder how many young readers who hadn’t before bothered to play with the encryptions took the time to figure that one out? It’s a fun way to draw the reader in a little deeper. Language As with the other Enola Holmes books, although this is considered "Middle Grade" I caution younger audiences that this contains references to some more mature content . Particularly disturbing is a case of disfigurement in this book, as well as lunacy. a b Bhattacharya, Suryasarathi (2020-09-23). Mycroft seems to care a bit more about stuff than was previously thought. Oh, and he knows about flowers! Enola Holmes is the star of the Enola Holmes Mysteries written by Nancy Springer. Currently, there are seven books in the series. The Case of the Bizarre Bouquet is the third book and this graphic novel is a stunning visual adaptation of it.

She longs for the family and she yet maintains the desire to remain independent. It will be interesting to watch how she grows up into a woman she wants to be. Summary:

If Enola is going to solve this case, she is going to employ some of her most clever disguises yet! After paying a visit to Mrs. Watson, Enola sees a very odd bouquet amongst the flowers sent by well-wishers. Enola is familiar with the language of flowers, and this paticular arrangement conveys a very negative message indeed. When she realizes that Dr. Watson might be in grave danger (pun intended), Enola springs into action. Determined to find the missing porter, Enola travels to the rough part of London where the boys live and starts searching Aldgate Pump area for the missing boy. When she finds the missing buttons - but not the boy - she decides that drastic action is essential if she's to save the missing boy. Released in September 2022, Enola is once again trying to help her friend, Lady Cecily. [8] Enola Holmes and the Mark of The Mongoose (2023) [ edit ]

Success!

Although Enola has never dressed as a boy and does not wish to, she does realize that trousers would frequently be much more convenient than her skirts. The villain sometimes dresses as a man, frequently taking the role of the brother-in-law she murdered. While her sister is freaked out by her desire to dress as a man, Enola thinks that the villain makes a much more satisfactory man than woman, and the sister is narrow-minded to think otherwise. More than in the previous novel, I was aware of the vocabulary being a bit challenging. Context will be sufficient for most readers, but a few may seek out a dictionary. RecommendationEmpowered, capable, and smart . . . [with] an impactful message that you can do anything if you set your mind to it.” In our villain we have an example of sibling love that goes beyond murder, but is also tainted with the inability to forgive.
