About this deal

Here we have RGB LED Strips from Phanteks, which is a popular hardware brand known for its high-quality PC cases and case fans. It also manufactures CPU coolers, power supplies, and other PC accessories. This Phanteks RGB LED strip comes in 400mm, 1 meter, and 2-meter sizes and is very flexible. The RGB LEDs and magnets in this strip are enclosed in a sealed transparent silicone housing, which also makes it waterproof. The built-in magnets are decent enough to hold on, but they could have been stronger for better grip. You can also use the included 3M double-sided tape to keep the LED strip firm and intact in its place. For connectivity, it comes with a 4-pin (+12V,G,R,B) connector that goes on to the 4-pin RGB header of the motherboard or in an external RGB Controller. Finally, we come to the LED strips themselves. Each of the two four-pin ports on the HUE+ controller is able to support four, daisy-chained LED lighting strips. I’ll use one port to connect the strips supplied with the HUE+ and the second port to connect and control the Aer RGB fan. Match Your Other Gaming Peripherals: If you’re looking for more design freedom than you get with standard RGB gaming keyboards and other accessories, then configurable RGB products might be excellent gaming peripherals. You can use these to add matching lights to a gaming keyboard, mouse, monitor, and headset. Many kits come with an additional controller that gives you even more freedom to arrange the LED strips however you like. Why RGB Strips Might Not Be For You

We kept it super simple with our example build and used a single white Alchemy LED strip from Bitfenix. Some double-sided tape keeps it attached to the top of the case, where it’s out of sight, but illuminates the entire interior. We could’ve put another strip at the bottom of the window for more lighting, or along either side, but one gave us a nice, soft glow. WavePress the - button to cycle through available color patterns and the + button to change itsspeed. Here we have high-quality RGB LED Strips from NZXT that are 30mm long. These are 5V ARGB LED strips that are only compatible with NZXT HUE 2 Lighting Controller, which you have to buy separately. The connector used here is a 4-pin proprietary connector from NZXT, which only works with NZXT HUE 2 Lighting Controller. The LED strip is flexible and the lighting is vibrant and bright enough. The LED strip is waterproof with transparent silicone covering it. The installation is done by the use of built-in magnets, and you can also use double-sided tape for extra grip. Important Note: RGB and ARGB LED strips are not compatible with each other headers or connectors. This means you cannot use a 12V RGB LED strip on a 3-pin RGB header (5V), and an ARGB LED Strip on a 4-pin 12V header, and if you do so, then you might end up damaging your motherboard RGB header/connector or the RGB LED Strip itself. So, always use the proper header or connector that a particular type of RGB LED Strip supports. If you don’t have RGB headers on your motherboard then you can buy an RGB LED Controller that you can attach inside the case using double-sided tape, velcro, or using a glue gun.

Choose a color or randomize the selection by pressing the - button. Press the + button to change the frequency and speed of theeffect. Next, look at how you control the light strip. Can you adjust the colors remotely from your phone, or over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi? Some of the entry-level strips use a physical remote, while some of the more expensive ones incorporate smartphone apps. While remotes work fine, sometimes they have more limited color, brightness, and customization options than app-enabled lighting strips.

In the latest generation of graphics cards, with Nvidia’s GTX 1070 and 1080, several GPU models come outfitted with RGB LEDs. EVGA’s FTW 1070 and MSI’s Gaming X card are two examples. Those have LEDs you can control through software. When looking for LED light strips, it’s important to focus on what you need, and measure that against the features of the strip. Does it have Bluetooth capability? Is it expandable if you decide you want a more extensive lighting setup later? Does it emit single-color, RGB, or RGBW? Here are the best ARGB LED Strips for use in gaming PC. These RGB LED Strips exhibit fancy and complex RGB lighting effects and looks stunning when lit up. DEEPCOOL RGB 200 Pro LED Strip Each of the major gaming motherboard manufacturers uses its own RGB control software. So whether it’s an LED strip light or a case fan, make sure the product you’re buying supports your motherboard’s RGB software before purchasing. Closing Thoughts

Plenty of other cooler companies make coolers outfitted with LEDs ( Cooler Master, for example) but with single-color LEDs. Remember if you buy one of those, you’ll need to plan your color scheme around it. StarlightChoose a color or randomize the selection by pressing the - button. Press the + button to change the frequency and speed of theeffect. RGB stands for red, green, and blue. The three primary colors used in an additive color model to produce a wide spectrum of hues—think millions—based on the different intensities of those three colors. A standard RGB LED Strip from Deepcool that is 550mm long and comes with 12 RGB LEDs. The LED Strip uses a 4-pin (+12V-G-R-B) connector, and for mounting it comes with a built-in magnet and double-faced adhesive. The strip is covered by transparent Silicone material for protection, but the light coming out from the LEDs is not diffused, which is not in the case of white translucent material. The LEDs are bright and the colors look vibrant. The strip is flexible which allows for better placement and makes it non-breakable too.

While the other entries on this list are typical LED strip lights, the Nanoleaf actually uses large geometric panels. This rearrangeable setup is both eye-catching and beautiful, giving off art installation vibes, whether on or off. Each panel produces both adjustable white and RGB light. You can sync them to your music for a party or have them react to touch for a fun addition to your kid's playroom. There’s even a screen mirror function, so the colors from your TV are reflected in the panels, making for an epic movie night. MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte have all embraced the LED lighting craze, so your options here are good. If you’re building an expensive X99 system, you can even get a motherboard with an LED power header for plugging those RGB LED strips directly into the motherboard. That’s a great way to unify everything around a single color scheme. Lumens: 2,000 | Color: RGBWW | Wattage: 30 watts | Length: 6.6-feet | Extendable: Yes | Smart Home: Yes There aren’t many better ways to spruce up your gaming rig than with one of the best PC LED strips on our list here. That completes the cabling. Use the thumbscrew supplied with the HUE+ to secure the controller to your PC case, tidy up your cables and close up the case. Let’s power on, and install the NZXT CAM controller application. Terry Walsh/IDG While other components will all be helping accent your case, LED strips are going to be doing most of the hard work. You have a ton of options here. Do you want RGB strips that you can change with the press of a button on a remote? Do you run colored lighting or pure white for illumination? How do you attach them to your case? While connecting the strips to the controller is very simple, now’s the time to figure out the ideal location for your LEDs and how you’ll route the wiring. The HUE+ includes 100mm, 300mm, and two 500mm extension cables, which are used to connect the individual LED strips. In the recent trend to make sure absolutely every PC component is outfitted with RGB LEDs, the major motherboard vendors have kitted out their boards with lighting. We built our example PC with the MSI Z170 Gaming Pro Carbon, which has a fairly subtle LED line tracing around the board and an RGB zone along its right edge. The color is configurable with MSI’s software. It’s a minor lighting element compared to an LED strip, but it does help to illuminate the small details of the motherboard surface. And motherboards are cool! Most LED RGB strips are designed for indoor use and are not waterproof; thus, keeping them safe from spills and liquid damage will prolong their useful life. You can find IPX-rated water-resistant LED strip lights, but they are less flexible and harder to mount due to the stiffness of their water-resistant coatings. If your gaming workstation happens to be in a steam room or poolside cabana, however, then water-resistant LED strip lights might be a good idea. How to Choose the Best RGB Strips for a PC
